I've been around for a few months here, and my recommendation is to not bump yourself up every hour, but to try and do it more sparingly once a day or something.

In the meantime, try to participate in conversations, see if there's some profiles you find interesting and engage them in conversations on threads (if they are active) or send them some private messages.

This works better than bumping yourself up, in my opinion.
