Any Interest in an Austin, TX get together?

I have to get with others who have organized such things but I was thinking that a hotel near sixth street...legendary sixth street would be a blast. its close to the air port and there is NEVER a dull moment.

I was thinking some time during the summer or fall depending on responses.

Any takers?

It would be much closer than Chicago for me. I could even take a bus...but I'm not sure either that it could happen for me this year. I wouldn't mind trying next year if ya'll do. I'd like to meet ya's.

October would be cool, September I'll be in Fla. after labor day for vacation and then in the last half of September I wander on over to New Mexico for a few weeks to train some Planners on a new process at two of our facilities there.

Early October would be good.

Date-wise, it don't make me no-matter-mind. Just a couple suggestions:

If it is during the summer, June would be best. To quote Garrison Keillor, "August in Texas is proof there's an angry God."

If in the fall, it would probably be best to avoid UT home football games. One fall possibility would be the weekend of the Texas Book Festival. In 2008 is was held 10/31-11/1. I just checked the site www.texasbookfestival.org and while the exact date for the 2009 event hasn't been selected, it will be sometime in November.

June would be good too, just not August as said in a previous post. Austin is just a three hour drive for me. I just didn't want to have it be too hot for outdoor activities.

Summers are now rather complicated when it comes to travel. That's not to say impossible, though. I mean, I *am* going to Jammies' again this year even if I have to leave five kids here with my ex and Bel.
