unfortunately all the bloody kids over here seem to use them, god knows why they need them, we never did but there.

It's pretty much useless to make the chemical illegal, since it is validly used in dark rooms and film processing, something that will remain over-the-counter until such time as film is obsoleted by digital images (perhaps another 30 to 50 years). That doesn't make it any more intelligent than snorting borax, though. You Brits really need to go after the damn traffic cameras through legislation... the state is getting revenue, the company that owns the Gatso's (?Spelling?) is getting very rich, and the public isn't any safer in the UK (based on traffic accident statistics) than it ever was.

Perhaps she needs the extra thrill, given her age (chain of logic: if she's young, odds are her lover are young, hence inexperienced to some degree, and thus the extra stimulus from the poppers helps compensate)... just a guess, but possibly a valid one.
