I work out quite strenuously, and enjoy reading (and writing) about physical activities in erotica. It adds a layer of character complexity, and it lends a bit of credibility to that stud who can go all night!

At my age I'm hesitant to call myself an "athlete" :D but I still enjoy pushing myself beyond what most people can do. In my world this includes hikes, mountain climbing, cycling, triathlons, and the occasional visit to a gym.

So I'm curious to know what other AH members are into athletic activities or regular gym activities, OR - who write about them.

I love it, and it's a part of many of my my characters -- exercise and heavy manual labor; pumped muscles, (sometimes) big rough hands, some sensitivity, and a sense of humor.

My characters -- male and female -- are usually physically active, which is how I want to be. And there's dance.

I took up karate about 3 years ago. I was playing squash, but I spent more time coaching than playing.

I usually do 2 x 1.5 hour sessions per week, and it's also a great social activity. Cathy, in my story
Cathy and karate: the beginning is based on my usual training partner. I'm slowly getting through a follow-up about "us" going to a competition. That's based on my first full contact fight. I was bruised for weeks, but I came third in the veteran division. I think it was worth the pain.

I like running. I'm a bit off my game right now but not too long ago I ran marathons. I'm getting back on the wagon and will run another one before too long.

I run an hour a day and I often write about fit women and/or give hints of their workout routine. Having said that, a bulk of my characters are average, everyday women, which is what I mostly like in erotica.

One thing that's hot about fitness & erotica is the whole locker room thing. I love the casual nudity at atmosphere of a gym/locker in a story.

Just for you, Heyall. I will finish this sometime this year. Promise.

“Can I borrow your towel, please? I forgot mine.” asked Cathy.

“Sure. As long as you don’t mind it being a bit sweaty.” I said as I tossed my towel across to her, standing there in a white sports bra and karate gi pants.

“Thanks.” She quickly wiped her top half dry-ish, then snuck another quick look outside the room. Not seeing anyone she quickly removed her bra and dried her chest. “Sweaty boobs. Blah!” Cath pulled a crop top out of her bag and slipped it on, then slipped her yellow summer dress over her head. She then undid her pants and took them off. “Yuck.”

I just watched, bemused. I wasn’t expecting a boobie flash from my friend. Her tits weren’t large, but they were nicely proportioned. And they were boobs. I tried to give her my best sarcastic scowl. “Really Cath? You trying to give this old bloke a heart attack?”

I am a sports loving Aussie, and sports feature in quite a lot of my stories. Here are some examples:

1. Leanne the Lusty Lifeguard - Leanne is a six feet four triathlete in this story set in Sydney. A number of the other characters also like Rugby League and cricket.

2. Body Swap With Sister's Boyfriend - In this story set in the Brisbane/Gold Coast region of Queensland, a nerdy brother (Richie) swaps bodies with his sister's boyfriend (Troy), a jock who is very talented at Australian Rules Football but not very bright. As the body swap happens on a weekend, non-sporting Richie has to play semi-professional football in Troy's stead against a violent and aggressive team. It doesn't go very well needless to say.

3. My Best Friend's Crazy Fat Sister - Zoe, the crazy fat sister from the title is a former (fictional) Australian professional tennis player from Melbourne who post retirement went off the rails and got really fat.

4. My Gay Friend's Hot Mum - The narrator Sophie meets her gay friend at a regatta on Melbourne's Yarra River, Sophie and her best friend Imogen talented rowers.

5. Debbie the Dumb Gold Digger - Amy is part of a girls' soccer team at her Chicago high school.

I'm rather limited because I'm disabled but I do dance and work out with weights. Lately I've been doing a lot of belly dancing. I do push myself to exhaustion and beyond when I have the time.

Right now my muscles are sore. I love that sore feeling! Really turns me on. I'm also feeling very sexy because I slathered myself in cocoa butter and gave myself a massage with a rubber tipped massage thingie. So I have two kinds of pain. Muscle soreness and a different kind of muscle soreness from the massage.

Only thing that could make it better would be sunshine. That really turns me on too!

Too bad my guy isn't here. He wouldn't be getting any sleep! :D

I train at Taekwondo and Hapkido 3 or 4 times a week, I run spring thru fall, and I swim a lot, but not seriously. I’ve written fights into a few stories, and “Chines Takeout 4” has a fairly long gym training sequence.

I do a combination Karate Kung Fu workout 1.25 to 1.75 hours, each day. An important part of the workout is integrating my breathing.

When I’m home, I workout about three hours a day four to five days a week: usually yoga, swimming, weights, HIIT or tabata, sometimes add pilates or dance. In the spring and summer, I also run or paddleboard during the week, swim everyday and sometimes play golf on the weekend. In the winter, we go snowboarding a lot of weekends. When we’re traveling, we always surf and scuba dive and build in time to do local hiking and sports. We’ve also done a couple of trips just built around training.

Fitness isn’t a focus in any of my stories, but I do mention my characters’ routines and they generally mirror my own and my SO’s. And the SO is on the lawyer league basketball and football (playing in the football games at MetLife stadium is always one of the funnest days of the year) so one of my MMC is too. Sports are a bigger focus in my next novel because one of the MMC is in the NBA.

Currently getting into better shape and all of my main male protagonists are in good shape. Most of the stories are CFNM and/or femdom-related, where the male character (usually a college jock) is objectified by horny women.

In my youth, I was on the sporty side of things. I did Kendo for three years and was a decent track and field guy. I also played Goalball for a season. It's a sport for the blind - and despite the looks, it DOES take endurance and constant training, just like any other sport.

By now, I'm a fat, ugly and grumpy couch potato. I do work out occasionally to stave off the ravages of time at least a little, but what little sport I have in my life is through media by now.

My Geek Pride 2020 story will mix cyberpunk and pro wrestling in hopefully interesting fashion. I'm halfway done and drowning in it -- close to 40k words by now.

I ran and spent several years training in Karate when I was younger, but I’m seriously out of practice.

On the other hand, I still usually hike a couple of times every weekend, and walk several miles most other days. I’m a bit lazy, but it’s easier to stay in shape than regain it. And I want to stay active as long as I can. One of my goals when I retire is to hike Hadrian’s wall in England, and some chunks of the Pacific Crest and Appalachian trails. Maybe Mt. Whitney, too.

I've never been hardcore but I do like to stay physically active. I bicycle, walk/hike and play tennis. A few times I've ridden in the MS150 bike ride from Houston to Austin.

As for my stories I have two that somewhat involve fitness. One involved a couple who regularly go to a gym to work out hooking up.

The second involved a wife who was a personal trainer and very physically active who ends up sleeping with an very overweight slob. It's not a great story but I liked the idea of two very opposite people regarding health and fitness getting together.

fitness

I've been known to bike, hike, XC ski and to paddle a bit (in a kayak, although that definitely works as a double entendre). But my jam is tennis, specifically singles. Have recently upped the ante to play more serve & volley style, which gives me a solid one-hour workout.
As for being an author, I still have not put any of my work out into the ether, except to specific correspondents, but that needs to change very soon. And Yes, several tales have involved working out...

When hiking, it's fun to keep my eye (and my mind) open for erotica story ideas. My Surprise On The Appalachian Trail https://www.literotica.com/beta/s/surprise-on-the-appalachian-trail (obviously) revolves around hiking.

A story I'm busy finishing is about a sports jock who goes through college on a baseball scholarship. Of course, as the team's star hitter, he has no trouble attracting hot co-eds :)

Workout

I try to jog 3 - 5 miles most mornings. After the jog I like to masturbate before I take my shower. I do view a half hour of masturbation as part of the workout and overall wellness feeling. I go to the gym 3 times a week if I can.

I also limit how much I eat and what I eat. I am short and if I let myself go I would end up looking like my grandmother... short and fat.

It is not just about looking sexually appealing. The entire quality of life depends upon being fit and trim. I know it is politically incorrect to say anything negative about people that are over weight but I get disgusted at seeing what fat slobs so many people let themselves become.

Reading these posts, I see one or two that seem obsessive to me. I've always disliked organised sport of any persuasion, have seen what running does to people's knees and feet, and can't think of anything more mindless than gym routines. Too much like hard work. But then I'm quite content to bang out a kilometre in the pool, when I find the time, following that thin black line, just me against myself in the water.

I'm firmly of the mind that says you've got an allotted number of heartbeats, and I don't intend using mine up ahead of time. I'm fortunate, in that my resting heart rate is around 50 - 52 per minute, and recovers quickly after exercise, and I'm in fair shape for my age.

"politically incorrect" is generally a nice way of saying "makes you look like an asshole". So it is here.

Being fat isn't a moral failing, like stealing or bullying others. It's just a physical status, like having freckles or blonde hair. Nobody has any duty to be thin for your sake, and even if they did, the idea that fat = lazy ignores everything we know about the science of weight gain/loss.

I could post link after link about the reasons why weight isn't as simple as how much you eat vs. how much you exercise, but I've had this discussion before, and my experience is that people who are determined to be judgemental about weight will just stuff their fingers in their ears, so I'm not going to waste time casting pearls before swine.

I wrote one story with an athlete: basically, this athlete is a fictional olympic runner who recently got a silver medal. She has killer legs, so of course naturally this leads to her consensually choking her boyfriend with her thighs and the two of them discover that they really love this. Here's a link to the story.

Being fat isn’t a moral failing, and I’ll admit weighing 10-15 lbs more than when I graduated high school, depending on the season and my work load.

But getting too overweight, or getting too far out of shape even if not “overweight” can limit your options in the future, particularly as you get older. I try to stay in moderately good shape because I enjoy what it allows me to do, and because I’ve seen the limitations not doing so has forced on friends and relatives as they get older.

Basically, I don’t love exercise - I love the fun things I can still do because of exercise. And because M’lady feels the same way - we just got back from a nice hike in the hills. Fun and exercise combined.
