I had two really bad scares in my car driving home today. I'm a complete idiot about cars. I don't know if I'm having problems with my brakes, my tires, or if it's just the weather.

What exactly did your car do differently, besides "not stop fast enough."

It looks like you've had some wind and rain today, so my first guess would be weather, with a hint of tires not suitable for wet roads.

PS: I answered here, because this could be a useful discussion for a lot of "complete idiots about cars."

I had two really bad scares in my car driving home today. I'm a complete idiot about cars. I don't know if I'm having problems with my brakes, my tires, or if it's just the weather. I don't dare drive it again until I'm more sure about what's going on. I think I may call a friend to come over and check it out later tonight. IF any of you know much about cars, especially brakes and tires, please PM me.

I almost had 2 wrecks in about 2 minutes and have no clue what was going on. I put on my hazards and drove the rest of the way home at less than 20 mph. It was like I lost total control of the car. I would appreciate any assistance.

Exactly what happened?....My car today was a little eratic until I checked tire pressure and found that all 4 tires were at a different pressure,evened up the pressure an it was 100% better.
