Any Audio Authors out There?

Like the naive simpleton that I am, I posed a question to the General Board about audio submissions, and much buffoonery and asshattery ensued in the cesspool of trolls and funny-smiths, but one or two good answers did speak out above the peanut gallery. Anyway, I've a side question now, and I've learned my lesson. :3

First off, have any of you ever submitted any audio submissions before? If you did, how did you do it? Did you first submit the story itself to the stories portion of the site, and then once it passed in, submitted your audio rendition of the same? I'm wondering because I can't find any specific guidelines regarding this, and although you're encouraged to provide the transcript along with the audio file, it's not the same thing as simply linking to the place on Lit where your written version is currently residing.

Since there are so few audio files in the section, I have another question; is the small number a result of their receiving fewer submissions, or do they only show a small portion of what they really have, and charge users to listen to/access the rest?

I don't know if it's any help, but we've been told all of the good people have left the building. They may have been the audio authors.

I do have one audio submission in my listing. It was well recieved but just too much out of my comfort zone to do more. I did do more poems that way though. I'll see if I can find the guidelines for you. I submitted mine by email with the text in the body of the email and the audio file attached. It's been a while but I think I had to create a submission in the regular submission page as well.

I have no idea about audio submissions. But I would enjoy it if you asked the GB how long it takes for a story to be approved. :)

Lol.

I'm trying to limit my ass-rapings to no more than one a month. I asked the GB if I was a racist the other day, and I'm still applying ointment to several tender spots. xD Besides, why should I ask about the time it takes for a story to be approved, when I see a new thread about it every day or so? :3 I don't participate in the noob-lynching, but I can't deny that I get the train wreck effect from it, and I watch as the poor unsuspecting ne'er-do-lurkers get torn to ribbons by the rabid masses.

Here is what and where I found the information on submitting audio with a text.

"How do I submit my Audio?

We love receiving audio submissions for our readers. The same content guidelines for written stories and poems apply to audio stories and poems.
If you would like to have your audio heard by our listeners, attach your Wave (.wav), Real Audio (.ram or .rm), or MP3 (.mp3) file to an email addressed to audio@literotica.com.

You can also submit audio via our toll-free phone number.

If you have a very large file you want to send us, you can also upload it to our server Be sure to follow the instructions on the page.

If submitting by phone, be sure to include the title of the piece, the text of the piece to go with the audio (if you wish), the name you wish to use as the author, and an email address for contact by readers. If you don't wish to have an email address posted with the audio, please let us know. If you have any questions regarding submitting an audio, feel free to email us!

I have a text story or poem that I want to post an audio file with as well. How do I do this?

If you've recorded yourself or a friend reading your story or poem and would like to include this with your text, simply submit the audio version as detailed about in the "How do I submit my Audio?" FAQ. Then, in your author profile, submit the text version under the "Text with Audio" or "Poetry With Audio" category. At the top of the submission, place the words "AUDIO VERSION SUBMITTED VIA EMAIL" or "AUDIO VERSION SUBMITTED VIA TOLL-FREE PHONE LINE" (click here for details on using our phone line). Then, attach the audio file to an email to submit@literotica.com. "

Yep those are the guidelines. I've submitted lots of audio. I usually submit the text first, then upload the audio to the server.

As for access, all I can say is that everything I've submitted shows up on Lit. I know they use the audio elsewhere as well, on their pay site? But it still shows up here on Lit.

I have submitted a couple of audio stories, and they are a pain in the ass to do. I submit the written part with no problem, and include a message in the notes field that the audio portion will be sent as an email attachment. :)

However, the audio portion is such a big file that my ISP won't accept it, so I have to break it down into segments, and hope they all get through and get put in the right order. I believe even a very short story has to be sent in two parts. I have also sent poems in audio, and that is much simpler, because the poems are only about 200 words or fewer, and I can send them as one attachment.

audio stories

i recorded mine on audio cassettes. put them in an envelope and posted them to laurel.

she told me she had to rip them. probably out of frustration. anyway, it seemed to work. except on the ones she lost during a house move.

but i am sure that if you do have trouble uploading or whatever it is called then you can chose a suitable device, stick or disc, and record onto that.

her address is somewhere on the site. in america i think.

Are you on dialup?

I can always upload mine to the server, no problem, but I had cable and now I've got DSL.

I'm not sure what you would call it, but I subscribe to Comcast. The last audio story I posted involved recording a story of about 2,500 words into three files and submitting them as attachments to three emails. It came out allright, but I would hate to bet that would happen again.
