Can you believe it?!?!
I came home tonight to find that my cat had sacrificed a bird for me. (An indication that she believes she is being improperly fed--time to change cat food again.) I picked up the parts she elected to share wtih me to find them covered with big ants. Living in Fireant country, it is rare to see real ants that have not been crowded out. I sat down at my desk to discover a short while later that the ants felt that I was as scrumptious as the bird. I figured this would be a good time to pull out the ant farm that I bought "for my son" last year and put it to good use. (Like most homeschooling families, we have a houseful of "educational" items that I bought because I wanted them--not my son. If anyone wants some animals to disect, let me know--we still have the kit with everything in it.)
I found the kit and cut it out of the plastic/concrete container and then learned that all the ants near my desk have vanished.
I am trying to tempt them with a cup containing a bit of Aunt Jemima. (The best ant-catching syrup, I am sure!)
Any suggestions or experiences from any of y'all about this? Please pass them my way. (I am thinking of taking this to work for my desk.)
