Was going to put this on the erotic horror thread but wanted a bit more discussion. I used to have quite the fascination with succubii but lately that's turned. So then I had a thought, what would be a natural predator for a succubus?
Now the first idea I had was just a seemingly defenseless victim turning into some sort of body horror plant that envelops a auccubus right as it grabs the thing's "soul" sort of like a hellish angler fish but that that seemed too basic
So then I had another idea. Fears of sex have lead to a lot of horror inspiration and while it wasn't their initial role, succubii fight nicely into sexual fear stories (you find someone attractive and go away with them, only to find yourself murdered by them during or after the act). Now in some stories with succubii, they are a punishment of sorts: a guy is cheating on his wife by seeing a prostitute so if the prostitute suddenly tears out his soul, well he invited that fate.
However succubii rarely get more characterization than just being hungry demons who take advantage of mortals (Fall From Grace from Planescape and the succubus from the Felix Castor novels notwithstanding, or Morrigan from Darkstalkers (she kills lots of men but she has other things to deal with)...so it got me thinking.
A succubus pretending to be a prostitute sees a guy looking at her but then looking away just as quickly. She walks over and initiates a conversation. Guy is interested but wants a bit more comfort in addition to a sexual release. Succubus rolls her eyes but offers a girlfriend experience. She suffers through a date and then gets the guy to go to bed with her, despite him trying to back out. She gets him to cum, taking his soul out...cringing at the effort she had to go through...and then feels sick.
She then feels her whole being get crushed under some great weight and realizes it's the soul she just removed. It's not a mere guy's soul but rather hundreds of souls that are all huge balls of frenzied emotions, filled with anxiety, nervousness, infatuation, lust, satisfaction, horrror, need, etc. she tries to push it all away but the soul just keeps crushing her until her soul is destroyed, ground up and integrated into the soul. Her body then gets up, now inhabited by the new soul,
The being that thrived on emotionless sex gets killed by all the raw emotion they ignored.
So what are your thoughts? What would make a good antithesis to a succubus?
