Protesters Outside Holmes' Broadway Debut

Anti-Scientology demonstrators who targeted Katie Holmes ahead of her debut Broadway performance of "All My Sons" also tried to convince singer Beck to denounce the religion.

Campaigners gathered outside New York's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Thursday night, chanting "Scientology kills!" as Holmes' husband and Scientology follower Tom Cruise arrived to watch the performance.

And the angry group also blasted musician Beck in their chants, waving banners and sending anti-Scientology messages to the star and other celebrity followers.

In the protest, one campaigner held a placard bearing the slogan, "Run, Katie, run! And take Beck with you," according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.

Beck has been a follower of the faith for most of his life, and is married to second-generation Scientologist, actress Marissa Ribisi.

Because scientology is a loony cult... and because it would probably be fun.

Because it's okay to celebrate whatever religion you choose... unless you choose something other than Christianity. Right?

I'm surprised they didn't also cast stones. Religious persecution has been going on for a while now. I've seen her boobies, nothing to protest about that.

Small Potatoes compared to what Jesus has done :D

Who do the Terps have today?
they beat California pretty good last week and they have someone called Eastern Michigan today, at home.

They played California at home last week, kickoff was noon, I mean, it was only 9:00 am Cally time. Not fair, but I'll take it.

They had a slow start this season, right?

That would be cool! The only bowl game I saw we lost

The whole ACC is off to a bad slow start but then again....it is just starting so we'll see how it pans out.

Tech is only getting better thanks to our knew coach. He can be an asshole but the nice guy approach hasn't work to well in College Football either.

ACC won't be good until Miami and Fla State come back. That could be a while. Teams like NC or VT will get better but not top ten for a while. Spurrier should have gone to an ACC team, he would be king of the hill by now!! Can you imagine Spurrier at NC State?

right, thats a belief

But a belief in and of itself isn't a religion, and you said you didn't believe there was no such thing as no religion; not no such thing as no beliefs.

Okay, but I also said, you have to believe in something. I'd like to get a hold of one of these guys on their death bed, see what they believe in now.....

It's possible to have beliefs that don't conform to any one religion.

This is true...sorry I am being nit-picky today. It's hormones and stress from being pregnant and overdue I think.

religion- a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects:

Not really...atheists purport not to believe in anything...at least religion-wise.

An athiest believes in a higher purpose; reason. That's all a religion is; a quaint backwards presentation of the idea of the ideal form; something to strive for, that higher purpose which gives meaning. Sometimes, Christians can be the paragons of the ideal form, as when they express the case for our individual rights and sometimes, they are simply a bad parody of it.

Athiests too. An example of one without reason is Dixon Carter Lee...

He's too sexy for god...

And Milan.

I've been on my death bed twice.

The first time I was hallucenating from fever and not really thinking, and the second time, I was gassed and just blacked out.
