I am hoping to get several answers to a question I've had for a while:

What's the difference between a "Master" and a "Daddy"?

All the letters except that second one, of course.

What’s the next question?

*awaits with bated breath*

Semantics.

Here’s a great thread on labels.

For me a title of master would imply a slave dynamic while a daddy dom is more of a nurturing dom. But, the meaning of labels truly only matters to the people in the relationship.

Awe, damn. Why do you have to be so articulate, TPH? I was hoping for a banter that would end with “well, a Daddy Dom would know how to handle my bratty, initial reply” or some such…

But yeah, you’re absolutely right; it’s all about the people in the dynamic and what they’ve come to the relationship with.

ETA: Also, I want to add that there are plenty of PYLs who are super nurturing but never want to be given the “Daddy” title, yet still fall under the umbrella (they could be Caregivers, Mommies, Sirs, etc). It’s all about the preferences of the peoples involved.

Thank you for the most informative link. The more I hear/talk about all the different varieties, the more I see the stereotypes being less mainstream.
Again Thanks.

Yes, to me Daddy would imply at least some nurturing aspects to the dynamic.
I also makes me think of a power dynamic that rests on societal roles, a kind of power that comes from being in a certain role, if that makes sense?

Are these questions for yourself? :)
I prefer more of the Daddy type, though I don’t use the honorific “Daddy”.

I would never have thought I could use “Daddy” until my ex asked me to. He didn’t insist; he asked and told me why he liked it. I had to think about it and it ended up working for us really well. But, I won’t use it with anyone else.
