Hello lovely LitE folks!

The rules here say we are not allowed to post entire stories and that stories must already be on LitE before we can solicit feedback for them. I'm in a quandary. I want feedback for my *draft* before I publish the final work on LitE. I don't want to publish something without reader/listener feedback. How can I do this while following the rules?

Second question. May I submit audio script drafts for feedback here? Or do I need to do that in the audio specific forum section?

I'm rather new to LitE so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

There's an editors' forum where you could appeal for an editor/beta-reader. There's also a function to do that vía your members home page.

The other thing I would suggest is messaging a writer you admire (who is currently active) asking if they would take a look. They might be flattered enough to help. I got lucky like that, and was privileged enough to have the wonderful BrokenSpokes give me feedback prior to publishing the Third Date.

Good luck!

You get a few beta readers. I have 4 or 5 who I let read my stories while I am writing. I get honest feedback from them. Even this morning I did the same for a guy who was writing a story based on some of mine. I not only gave him feedback of where he was going I suggested things he could use for his character development.
You might start with random editors, or better do like this guy did with me. He'd read many of my stories, liked the way I wrote and asked i I would help him a bit (at least give some feedback)

I've got a recurring complaint about comments. There was a particular story submitted about 14 hours ago in LW. I commented almost immediately, but it still hasn't been posted, even though 30 other comments have been posted. Why?

Because your total comment count hasn't passed a threshold. I don't know what it is, but until you pass xx number of comments, your comments are in a review queue. Once you pass the threshold, your comments should post immediately. It's as if you get yourself on a trusted commenter list.

That MIGHT be an answer, but I have another thought. The story I commented on was written by Hooked1957. He, Blackrandi1958, plus her father, Harddaysknight seem to run this site, not Laurel and Manu. And that's truly a shame.

Ooh, spill the tea. Lets hear the details about this secret cabal that actually runs Lit.

For drafts, you can share snippets or specific sections in the *Author's Hangout* or *Writing Help* forums to get feedback without posting the whole story. Just make sure it’s clear it’s a work in progress. For audio scripts, the *Audio Scripts* forum is your best bet, they’ll have the right crowd for that kind of feedback.
