ORLANDO, Fla., July 20 (Reuters) - The death of a man shot
inside his home, by a sheriff's deputy who went to the wrong
apartment looking for a criminal suspect, has sparked protests
this week over police procedures in the central Florida city of
Leesburg.

Andrew "Drew" Scott, 26, a pizza delivery driver, was shot
dead at 1:30 a.m. o n Sunday when deputies knocked on his
apartment door without identifying themselves as law enforcement
officers. Scott opened his door holding a gun, according to Lake
County Sheriff spokesman Lieutenant John Herrell.

The Lake County Sheriff has no policy requiring deputies to
announce themselves, Herrell told Reuters.

Should the cops be charged with 2nd Degree murder like Zimmerman?

Because Zimmerman wore a uniform and a badge?

This case has nothing to do with Zimmerman...

...and the deputy who shot and killed a totally innocent man should certainly be prosecuted just as any other individual would be for the same deadly crime.

you're retarded.

no, really.

The case is related to Zimmerman because of the following facts:

Zimmerman was free to roam the neighborhood and follow whomever we wanted. Zimmerman broke no law in doing so. The deputy broke no law by going to the wrong house.

Now, it was argued that Trayvon would be alive if only Zimmerman stayed in his car (eve though he had the legal right to leave his car). Same for FL dead guy... he would be alive if only the Deputy did not go to the wrong house.

With Zimmerman, he could not foresee the events that eventually lead to Trayvon's death. In the case of the Deputy, he could not foresee that the FL would come to the door with a gun (the FL guy had a legal right to do so).

See the similarity? Does not matter that one shooter was a Deputy n this case.
