A Valley woman thought she was covered by health insurance, but when she had a baby, she found out she wasn't.
It turns out the employer was going bankrupt and it did not inform the employees. So his fraudulent behavior cost her $7,000.
The reporter implied it was up to HER to own up to her employer's fraudulent behavior and negotiate her payments down by 50%.
If I were the police I would imprison the employer for fraud and let him waste a pile of money defending himself in criminal court or let the public defender railroad him into a plea bargain and time in prison.
This employer intentionally left his/her employees exposed to major financial liabilities. You only stop behavior like that with the harshest possible punishments.
