Another site found by a friend!

Yep, you can see lots of red X's and other cool stuff.

*slaps hand to forehead*

I liked this quote tho:

"I grew up in a world where there were no happy gay couples in books or movies, where psychiatrists called us promiscuous by nature and incapable of long-term relationships, where the only time you heard of gay people was under sinister circumstances. Thank you for demonstrating that same-sex couples can live lives full of joy, laughter, happiness, lightheartedness, and merriment. Those are all meanings of the word 'gay'! I'm not in a relationship right now, but I can't wait to find Mr. Right! Your site encourages me not to give up looking!" --A Visitor

I think that site may have been hacked or something.

When I clicked on your link I got a message saying "stop developing strategies on how to increase the gay population"

Now, where did I read that same line, about TWO MINUTES AGO??

I've been having a lot of problems with Lit lately, includeing my posts going on the wrong threads. Try going their directly:

This is extremely interesting to me, and speaks of much that I have never honestly thought about before.

From the site:

Yet the fact is that most gay men are denied masculinity twice, first in growing up, when they are labeled or label themselves gay and thus less than masculine, and then when they come out or are turned out in to a gay male culture that inculcates self hate through effeminacy and anal sex.

The result is men whose sense of their masculinity is weak, and who incorporate an image of femininity that's not nurturing, but is rather a parody of the feminine -most clearly seen in drag, but heard from all the time in the her, she, miss mary language of gay men, and reinforced by the self-loathing bitchboy mancunt pussypunk stereotypes adopted by "bottoms."

Men into frot reject the false femininity and the top/bottom hierarchies of mainstream gay male anal culture.

Instead they value a relaxed and informed masculinity. They are at home with their maleness, and in sex most seek not to dominate their partner, but to play in a joyful though at times intense and even combative equality of phalluses. Nothing could be more different than these two concepts of sex, the one based on penetration and submission and an essentially male-female dichotomy, the other on male communion and celebration of the uniquely masculine act of
phallic mating.

I never thought about the psychological reasons why gay men would not be into anal sex; I figured that if it didn't feel good, they wouldn't do it, and left it at that. This goes much further.

Oh good!

*claps her hands delightedly*

Made you think.

However, you must get all the sides of the story!

I think it's a pot/kettle/black situation.

These guys insist that every gay man who engages in anal sex is perpetuating a self loathing dynamic, and yet, their own strident contempt for such a common form of gay sexual expression could be construed as a deep discomfort with their own sexual identity.

In other words, methinks they dost protest too much.

I think they might be, but then again, I think that just as some women would prefer not to be penetrated for whatever reason but still want sexual contact so might some men...

Mightn't they?

Of course. But this is a bit beyond that, isn't it? The authors of this site are pretty clear that they hold in contempt all gays who don't measure up to their standards of masculinity.

If they don't want to get fucked in the ass, that's fine, but referring to those who do as "self-loathing bitchboy mancunt pussypunk stereotypes" is going a bit beyond merely expressing their own preference.

I agree completely. D/s is only as humiliating as the partners want it to be; try hopping over to that forum and telling them that they are all degrading their submissives, and see how warm a reply you get!

Besides, they are associating the person being penetrated as the "female," which I think is true the majority of the time but is not necessarily so. Lots of female dominants enjoy penetration, and they are certainly not less in-control just because they are being fucked. Also, as loosely as they are interpreting "top" and "bottom," whoever is on top during frot could be contrued as the dominant partner. So unless they're always standing or laying side-by-side, someone is above and below--what they so adamantly profess NOT to be.

I found their tastes extremely romantic, but I do agree that driving this anti-anal stance in so deeply sounds a little suspicious and hints at quite a bit of unresolved resentment. </psych 101>
