Cross-dressing state lawmaker blackmailed following late night tryst

SPOKANE -- State Representative Richard Curtis says he's not gay, but police reports and court records indicate the Republican lawmaker from southwestern Washington dressed up in women's lingerie and met a Medical Lake man in a local erotic video store which led to consensual sex at a downtown hotel and a threat to expose Curtis' activities publicly.

A search warrant unsealed Tuesday morning disclosed that State Representative Richard Curtis (R - La Center) had sex in his room at the Davenport Tower with a man identified as Cody Castagna, 26, of Medical Lake, who he met at the Hollywood Erotic Boutique on October 26th.

Afterward he met Cody Castagna, and they talked about getting together at Curtis' hotel room to have sex. Curtis left Castagna his cellphone number and went to Northern Quest Casino and receiving a call from him around 3 a.m., and planned to get together at the hotel a short while later.

The two met at the Davenport Tower around 3:34 a.m. and police reports confirm Curtis and Castagna had anal intercourse after which Curtis fell asleep. Castagna, according to court records, then allegedly took Curtis' wallet out of his jacket pocket and left the room.

Around 7 a.m. he called Curtis and told him he knew he was a member of the Washington State House of Representatives and was married, that he had taken pictures of Curtis with a camera on his cellphone and he offered to return the wallet in exchange for $1,000. In police reports it is claimed that Curtis offered Castagna that sum of money in exchange for having unprotected anal intercourse.

When he contacted police, Curtis told detectives he wanted to keep the incident quiet and didn't want to press charges against Castagna and that all he wanted was his wallet back.

A Spokane TV station, KREM, reported on its Web site that Curtis and the man had a sexual encounter and were seen together at various spots around the city.

Curtis was in the city for a retreat with other Republican lawmakers to craft strategy for the upcoming legislative session.

Curtis talked briefly with Columbian Editor Lou Brancaccio at about 4 p.m. Monday and denied reports of a sexual relationship.

"I am not gay," he told Brancaccio. "I have not had sex with a guy."

Conservatives by nature are sexually repressed...so they look for alternative ways to get off (I seem to remember a guy getting his colon ruptured by a horse a few years back) that endanger their political careers. Republicans are also very cheap as well (due to the inherent nature of being a conservative) so this guy couldn't buy his way out of this situation if he wanted to (Im sure he would love to toss out one grand and be rid of this situation NOW but there were principals at work that just wouldn't let him do it before the stakes were raised too high).

I was talking with one of my liberal friends recently and he told me flat out conservatives would never vote for a woman for president.

Liberal policies freed slaves, supported affirmative action, allowed women to vote... so they have a much better record on the whole sexism, racism, homophobia thing.

I know what you're saying... "That was all years ago! Today's Republicans are pro-woman and pro-minority."

But then they still have had bad records recently on race (Segregationist Strom Thurmond was continually re-elected to Congress until 02) and women's rights (Roe v. Wade).

So, I believe that Republicans would vote a woman president, as long as she wasn't too uppity, and was married and had her house in order. Why else do conservatives have an irrational hatred of Hillary Clinton? I doubt as many cons would hate her if she were a man.

I have no idea what Dem policies "keep blacks on the plantation" but they sure have a better record than conservatives.

And anyone who thinks porn should be made illegal because its "obscene", yet involves consenting adults is sexually repressed. How can you argue against that? Also, people that are gay but don't admit it to anyone, including themselves are sexually repressed.

Really, anyone who thinks two guys getting married is going to affect their own heterosexual marriage probably has some issues.
