I understand the low odds, but I figured it couldn’t hurt at all to try. It is driving me crazy that I haven’t been able to find this story again. I have searched my hard drive for hours and tried a ton of different google search permutations as recommended, but have still turned up nothing.
- Long story (multiple pages or submissions).
- A husband/boyfriend splits up with his wife/girlfriend, for reasons I cannot remember (most likely infidelity).
- He goes to las vegas and runs a very successful security company, making a lot of money, and exploring the vices of the city (lots of women and alcohol).
- His prior wife/girlfriend comes looking for him, and he treats her rather cruelly, just like any other women, saying that he is open to fucking her but with no emotional ties.
- She has hopes of making everything right, and originally agrees to his ‘no-emotional-ties’ demands. He continues his lifestyle and continues to pick up other women as well. She soon sees that he cannot be swayed and leaves.
- With the help of friends, her husband/boyfriend finally realizes that he is throwing his life away indulging in an unhealthy amount of booze and women and turns his life around.
- He eventually visits his prior wife/girlfriend and they reconnect.
- The story ends at a charity dating auction where one of his friends is up for auction. One of her friends is attracted to his friend, and so the newly reunited couple sets it up so that she bids for a date with him.
Call me a sucker for happy romantic endings, but I still haven't forgot the emotional roller coaster the story took me on. It is one of the best stories I have read, and if anyone can help me, I’d be tremendously grateful.
