Fred and Edna were childhood sweethearts - their First Time was with each other just after the turned 18 - in 1940.

Of course, soon after that, Fred went off to war. Edna married a nice young man with flat feet. After his discharge, Fred moved west.

A couple of years ago, Fred's wife died. They had no children, so he moved back to his hometown, living with his sister. Well, she passed away, and Fred is not well enough to keep up the house, so he's moving into the "assisted living center".

He is unhappy about losing his independence, until he walks into the cafeteria for the first time - and sees Edna!

"What Might Have Been" by Lonestar (hit the top ten a few years back) would be a good song for some inspiration on this idea!

Nursing home may be a bit too old for my tastes, but I like this overall idea. I have my own story idea that I hope to do sometime titled: Second Chance, with the story summary of "A couple receives a second chance at love". It will be based around a couple that had both been married before, divorced, and found love again.

just trying to mix things up a bit, love.

Here's another idea (stems from the weird fiction / sci-fi corner):

A small group of individuals (about a half dozen or so) live/re-live their lives from the time they are 8/9/10/11/12 or so until they die.

The kicker is that they remember almost everything that they've done in their previous lives, so naturally, the first few times this loop occurs, they get the "deja vu" feeling; by the seventh or eighth loop, they either think they're pre-cognitivie or insane.

Imagine that - you already know/married/divorced a number of people you knew before; you know when big events occur, you know what stocks to buy, you know how to get rich, etc. It's like Bill Murray's "Groundhog Day", but drawn over a lifetime.

IDK how to spice this up, but I outlined a few possibilities:

(1) One of the group has gone insane and is murdering the others, putting them out of synch with the rest of the group. Someone (perhaps a new individual who is experiencing the loop for the first few times) is the principal investigator.

(2) There is a schism in the group -- one faction wants to leave the loop and live out normal lives, the other wants this to continue. Unsure of the tech details required for this plot to resolve (may need to read into Quantum Mechanics).

(3) Someone has heard of this effect and wants in, regardless of the cost. Again, unsure of how this requires murder most foul to carry out the story.

Two neighbors who grew up together. Those early years of being playmates bonded the two together in a special way. Years go by and the neighbors share many secrets together. They are boy and girl but have a different friendship than just Boyfriend & Girlfriend. They did experiemnt at that early age to see what made them different. As they grew older they maintained this unique and strong bond. Helping each other with their first boyfriends and girlfriends but never considering this for themselves. The bond they share is put on the back shelf when families move apart. College years they manage to catch a moment during breaks to have dinner together and talk about the changes in thier lives. Even though they often experimented sexually with each other it was more out of curiosity and their strong friendship for mutual pleasure with no strings.

They grow apart and both marry others and raise thier families without ever looking back.
Then as one of thier mothers turns ill there is a change meeting. They are both in thier 60's now. one a widow and the other married but living seperate lives. Thier meeting is unplanned and they are both taken by surprize as their feeling long forgotten suddenly surge to the surface. Against both their judgement they fall into a long embrace they cannot explain. Thier bodies need to be satisfied and they abandon all reason and make passionate love to each other.
They both now understand what that longing they had experienced for so many years.

1940?

Jesus Christ! Was that when Abraham Lincoln was President? No wait, that was Roosevelt I, no, wait, Roosevelt II. I'm so confused...

Love,

Jamie
