This time, it was Richard Pryor. He had a heart attack.

I suppose this means we'll get to see a long row of his movies in a week or two.

Hard to believe he won't do any more movies where he stare and scream and get hysteric and swears.

Rest in peace, Richard Pryor. :rose:

The man made me laugh ... a lot.

Agreed....most of the time until I cried, my face hurt, and my stomach ached.

Yup. Especially the skit where he tells about getting BenGay on his balls. :D

I loved his bawdy humor but I also loved some of the other things he did. Anyone see the movie Stir Crazy Pryor did with Gene Wilder?

Silly movie, honestly. But such sweetness.

I wasn't sure whether this thread was about Richard Pryor, a incredibly talented man to whom virtually every comedian that followed owes a debt of gratitiude, and sadly was as much a victim of his own excesses as he was of other ailments, or Eugene McCarthy who also passed away today.

I liked the one where he played a blind man.

"I want my best friend to tell me what time it is!"

Arrrgggghh. I loved Richard Pryor.

By far my favorite joke of his was "Little Feets".

My favorite movie of his was Harlem Nights.

He will be missed.

He was too talented and haunted for his own good. Ironically it was one of his ex-wives who became his caregiver in latter years. Not sure if they remarried.

I remember Pryor when he first came to the general public's eye (I was a teen). He made me laugh like no white man ever did - and made me glad I wasn't white. For me, listening to some of his early work was as satisfying, and as painful, as listening to Maria Callas.

One of his bits that I loved was done after his setting-himself-on-fire episode - he talks about shooting his car, and how it "got good to him."
