Another Category Question

I've just finished a story, and I'm struggling with category selection as well... didn't want to jack the other thread...

It's about a high school girl and her tutor... he teaches her geometry using sex The thing is... she's a virgin, but doesn't (officially) lose her virginity, so it doesn't seem quite right for First Time. They end up having anal, but this is too light and romantic of a story to put it in Anal. It's not appropriate for Romance, because there's sex in it. Erotic Couplings is obviously a catchall, could do that. I was considering Mature, since he's probably 15 years older than her... is there something I'm not thinking of? What would you do?

You can certainly put a story with sex (or anal sex) in Romance, although I suspect your gut instinct is right in that the readers might be less prepared for anal. There's always "Erotic Couplings"; it's a fairly decent catch-all.

I think Mature would be the best one myself.

Trying to avoid Erotic Couplings. I'm finding good stories getting ripped to shreds there. Not enough wank factor I guess.

What? Romantics don't have sex? <g> If the romance is the predominant tone, I'd consider that, but--just based on your summary--I would go with Erotic Couplings. If the difference in age is brought up and emphasized, then Mature might be more appropriate; in the same way that an emphasis on their illicit relationship (being teacher and student) might make it right for the Taboo category--although, even now, most of the readers look for incest and nothing but incest in there.

Mature and first time both would work. I think which is best depends on how much her innocence comes into play in relation to the age difference.

I have only written two Romance stories but they both had quite a bit of sex, but it was all in the last third of the story. After the man and woman realized that they were soulmates, fated for each other, yadda yadda, they made up for lost time.

If it was her first time for sex of any kind, that's where I would put it. I don't believe there are any requirements as to what type of sex has to be involved in First Time. The other option would be Anal. It might fit in Mature, but I believe that should have more of an age difference.

yes, it's her first penetration... so I guess "first time"... I had the same thought about mature, the age difference doesn't quite seem enough... and it's WAY too light and romantic to put it into "anal"... I hate to do "erotic couplings"... we know how oft-read (not!) those are... !

Based on the number of reads my stories get, either Anal or first Time do fairly well. E/C does much more poorly and Romance does even worse.
