It happend again! And I'm sure it's happened to you too. Someone complains about your story but they are too much of a COWARD, that's right I said it and meant it, to leave thier Name/email.

I have asked the gods of Lit, or at least a demi-god, by email if I could turn off anonymous comments, like I can turn off public comments. I received no reply.

If readers want to give me feedback, I wish they would identify themselves, just so I could answer/explain my reasoning. Not so I could yell at them.

Go into your members area, and go into main then options and there is a button that says "accept anon feedback?".

The Gods of Lit generally don't reply unless you PM them because they are busy doing god like things like running the 6th Annual comp. :D

But don't despair, wait until the Author Feedback awards for MArch are posted soon, and nominate some doozy feedback of yours. The Feb awards are running now, to give you an idea of the quality of feedback us authors get :D

Thanks wishfulthinking, I feel like such a bonehead. (I am, but don't tell anyone)

I accept it. People should have every option. It means we have no chance for dialogue, but they obviously want to "turn off" my ability to reply.

Sorry, but turning off the Anon comments doesn't stop you from getting anonymous public comments. I know. I've tried. :D

Shit and I apologized to Lit too. Haha. Oh well, I'll just grin and bear it. or is that BARE it?

The glory of (relatively) free speech should apply to everyone, since we are relatively anonymous ourselves. I hold the following truths to be self evident:

A criticism from a person who does not identify themselves with so much as a psuedo-name should be taken with a grain of salt, or rock salt as the case may be.

Feedback does not mean that you accept only feedback that is glowing or involves genuflection.

If they ever insist on people indentifying themselves, expect a lot less feedback, and NOT just a reduction in NEGATIVE feedback either. Some people just don't want to be connected with a site like this, no matter what they are saying or how hidden they may be..

Just put a comment of your own in response, if it bothers you that much. I have, when the comment is way off base. Chances are they will see it too. :cathappy:

good idea, Thanks. It's easy to make the comments that you did having your name for your login, haha.

Or a mountain of salt.

My regret with anonymous messages is the inability to acknowledge or respond.

In this context, I do not find that the comment or e-mail being anonymous is a particular evil. I want to hear from anyone, whether they blat their name out in a porn site or choose not to. Face it, people. My name isn't really 'cantdog,' either.

I have seen, in workplaces, a great to-do made about someone's performance or, worse, their "attitude," based on a complainant who is anonymous. Now that is an evil. In the real world, anonymous complaints are spindrift. They should raise no ripples unless they have a name.

No wonder I couldn't find you in the phone book!

Hey, what if you had an option to disallow anonymous feedback? What you would end up with is a lot of new users. Members will have their hater log-in name.

Apparently, you DO have that option, but I've been told it doesn't work. Catch-22 if you know what I mean.

This think how sad and miseriable the individual must be to do something like to on a nice pron site. Maybe someone needs to give him a hug.

I'd actually like to yell at t hem, not answer or explain myself.
And release the names, street addresses and contact information for trolls.
