Why don't these people at least have the balls to leave their email address for a response?
I just had one respond that they read only to the second paragraph, bothered to scroll all the way to the final page to give me a score of 1 because he didn't agree with the fact that my lead character was in an unhappy relationship.....Then he took the time to write me an anonymous email.
THAT'S WHAT THE FUCKING STORY WAS ABOUT IF HE WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO READ IT

Maybe my next next story will bill submitted by anonymous....can we do that?

Dave,

I think a lot people who leave anonymous feedback, positive or negative, are simply scared of other people finding out they've been on "that sort" of website. You're right, I wish they'd at least leave a username so you can rebut the criticism.

You can't submit anonymously although I think the user name "anonymous" is taken.

What hacks me off more are the folks who e-mail a question to me on a story and I compose an answer in reply--only to find out that they had used a fake e-mail address in registering with Lit. and the reply doesn't go anywhere.

Aren't you already posting your stories anonymously, Davenumbers?

just roll with it. the anon. is just a troll. the intent, in my view, is purely to make you feel bad as the voice against their particular beliefs.

by railing against the anon. you are actually feeding the troll - again, this is merely my own observation.

my best advice - and i never give advice, other than to say, never give advice - would be to write your stuff, submit it, and enjoy the process.

any bollocks feedback, keep it, it can make for hilarious thread content later.

good luck. peace. :)

Don't worry about it, he's one of many and probably just guilt ridden that he got off on your story so soon.

Shrug it off, have a laugh that you have wasted his time.

Well now that's interesting, because as I recall, don't you get an email with a link to confirm your Lit registration? Well they probably make it up when they send the feedback. Sometimes I wonder why people bother doing such things. As in, why waste the brain power?

Because they have no life!

I just thought it odd the the guy even took the time to email me to tell me he had given me a one score on my story after scrolling down 3 pages to do so......where I'm from we call those people peckerheads

You either get an e-mail address or it's labeled anonymous. I don't bother responding to questions from Anonymous, naturally, because I know the answer isn't going anywhere. The frustration is when an e-mail address is given and that proves not to go anywhere either. My surmise is that when they registered they gave a fake e-mail address and then forgot that they had. Because they invariably have asked a nonharrassing question, so I assume they thought they'd get an answer. And when they don't, they probably blame me--when it's their own lack of a contact number that's to blame.

As I've stated before and will again but now to David. The anon trolls who leave these comments were the kids who lost there milk money to the bullies and walked around with wedgies all during high school. They hide behind the computer and dole out insults that they never have to be accountable for. Having said that the easiest way to deal with them is the same way you would deal with any idiot in your personal life with nothing nice to say, you simply ignore them getting upset lends them a feeling of accomplishment.
Now for your comment of "If they had sent an e-mail address" Many people say that and I have in the past. Then I found myself wondering why would it matter? what will you do? send him a scathing e-mail back and call him names? Or just try to rationalize your story? Either is a waste of time. The insult path will get you more upset than them and get you an automatic one bomb from them on any story you write from this point on. (I have one that e-mails me every time he drops a one bomb so predictable it's even the same time every day he does it). As for rationalizing your writing? Why would you? It's your story, your characters you do not owe anyone an explanation it's your baby and like every thing else in life you will not please everyone so don't try. On another note the only time I find myself slightly upset with anon. posters is the opposite case where they make a great comment on my writing and do it continuously-as after awhile you start to "know" them anon or not you can tell everyone here knows what I mean- and I would love to shoot them a "thank you". Understand that this is a sex site and many people for personal reasons don;t want to set up an account and especially if it's a taboo category like incest, or non consent, or Gay male. Just take it for what it's really worth which is nothing.
