Well, I got my first ugly feedback this morning. What's funny is the author clearly wants his comments to bite, but when you cowardly send your remarks anonymously it's a pointless dart. Why should anyone give any credence to someone who doesn't sign his name?

Furthermore, the critic didn't say why the poem sucked. The construction and tone of the note is very familiar, and that is funny. I think I have a troll.

Why would anyone invest that much energy into someone he doesn't like? Someone not liking me or my work is not going to destroy me. Sure, I prefer praise, but sophomoric antics isn't anything to get upset over. To Anonymous, have the balls to identify yourself. Of course, if you have nothing better to do, I'd say you're sadder than any sorry poems I write. :)

This is all the press you'll get from me. You voted the poem down and you sent an ugly note. Pretty heavy.

Thanks for the feedback.

Peace,

daughter

anonymous is a slut

Our anonymous is most likely the same person. He moves from one writer to the next. He tells us that our work sucks, and it thrills him to say that. The only way he can use a naughty word when corresponding with any of us is to disguise it in hate mail.
So, be flattered. Anonymous has the hots for you! :D

I turned mine off. I found that people used it for other things than feedback. And what bothered me more was positive anonymous feedback.

Hehe! I used the feedback option once! And that was to tell SA that I liked his Favor poem. Except I TOLD him who it was in the note cuz I wanted him to know it was me. Only reason I used the feedback is because I was being lazy. I mean, it was just there going "click me, click me! ya know you want to say I liked your poem!" LOL!!!

Yeah, annoyomous feedback more or less sucks.

What a coward your troll!

BOOOOOO!!!

I like anonymous feedback on the whole. If the anonymity helps one person along toward sending me feedback, I think it's worth it. (Of course, that might be because I have yet to get nasty feedback.)

I use the function myself, but I always put my address down so the person can write me if he/she wants. I'd feel cowardly not telling them who I was.

No sweat

Hey, negative anonymous feedback doesn't bother me. I've taken so much shit over opposing "America's new war on terrorism" that I'm immune to any negative comments. Actually, virtually all the feedback I've gotten so far has been either postive or constructive criticism, which I don't mind at all. I've only gotten one nasty anonymous message, about my story "A Christmas Tail." Someone sent me the comment: "YOU SICK CUNT." Interesting the person used a term of abuse which refers to a female, even though my bio identifies me as male. A little sexism there?

RED is a sweetie pie

He knows his bad boy image turns folks on. He's very nice to daughter and she appreciates her radical comrad. :)

Peace,

daughter

Thanks!

Thanks, daughter-- that's the nicest thing anyone said about me in a while. You're a pretty cool soulful sister yourself. And WS-- ain't it the truth!

Trolls

I actually posted this quote in the "Author's Hangout", but we never see you there anymore, Daughter.

Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

And re: Redwave being called a "cunt". Dude, your abuser may be British. They seem to use the word for males quite frequently. At least in movies like "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels", so it must be true.
