Can anyone out there recommend an anonymous E mail account, web based preferably. I use Literotica.org normally but it is just not working. I e mailed myself and didn't get it! I need an anonymous account to receive my lit feedback.

Thanks Wyatt

No I wasn't kidding. I was looking for people with good experiences. I've heard Hotmail is easily hacked into. Whether that's correct I don't know. As for Yahoo I've never used it so was looking for someone who has to point me in that direction. I've had trouble with online E mail accounts myself as have others.

Cheers both

I've had my hotmail hacked before now, but i still use it for ease and convienience, I think Yahoo is a pretty good one too, my sister uses that and doesn't seem to have any problems with it :D

Hushmail.com is a super-safe encrypted account.

Pluses: very secure, OpenPGP compatible; free account available (but see below)

Minuses: long downloads for java encryption software if using a modem connection; they lock you out if you don't use it for a while, and then you have to purchase an account if you want to access it again. Doesn't work with all browsers.

I haven't had any problems with excite.com. Lycos mail isn't bad if you access your account every 30 days.

I haven't had any problems with my Yahoo! accounts. They all seem relatively safe so far & I know they're also upgrading Spam protection constantly.

I've now had PMs from several Lit members who have had similar experiences. It seems pretty well a nailed on cert that Lit.org isn't working.

Several people use it for story feedback address and everyone has changed to a different account.

I even tried E mailing myself a few times and E mailed other people who were experiencing problems...Guess what? They didn't get their mail !

I have now switched to Yahoo. and my feedback is flowing again

Thanks all.:)

I checked a few sites out and HOTMAIL has a bad reputation all round. As it's Microsoft some people seem to get a kick out of hacking it.

I have a question that goes along with this thread. Is there an email account that is TRULY anonymous? An account that does not sell your information, or provide your ISP number to anyone who receives an email from you?

Because I'm still wondering. :)

What I like about my yahoo email account (which I use as my non-regular account) is that they already separate out bulk type mail from personal mail....with one-button "bulk mail deletion" capability where the deleted mail is completely gone and not lurking in your wastebasket....just a thought...

True...but even with personal email, I can click on an option that gives me a 'full header', and then goes on to tell me ISP numbers and such. Is there any way to avoid that ISP number showing up?

I know ISPs can be traced, and my privacy is very important to me, especially given my profession. Is there any account that blocks that ISP from going out with an email I send?

Not sure about any specific accounts that do that...but I believe there are quite a few software companies that have that sort of blocking ability for whatever mail account you do have....
