I have it in my settings to accept anonymous feedback and comments are turned on. The individual chapters allow comments as well. Someone mentioned their anonymous comment didn't post after three days, so they logged in. I also noticed my last couple releases had no anonymous comments, which is unusual. I did toggle the setting and submitted a test comment just now. I'm not sure what the issue could be. Has anyone else run into this?

Edit: This is the story: https://www.literotica.com/s/love-in-the-balance-ch-14

I had not noticed bit my last anonymous comment on anything was almost two weeks ago.

I had an anonymous comment a little over a week ago, and one a week before that.

I've got an anon comment a few days ago:

I haven't had any other comments since then either, so I'd say everything's normal.

From what others have said, it looks like they haven't gotten an anonymous comment in over a week. Should I message Laurel? The commenter did say they tried posting an anonymous comment. I'll probably wait a bit and see if my test comment posts.

I've had my own comments posted after as long as two days, so I wouldn't be surprised if anons take even longer.

I mentioned in another thread that one of my stories just got an anonymous comment alongside a named comment, that looked like it was a single user testing out whether comments were getting through.

September first, so they are still posting. Maybe the commenter didn't submit theirs right? I still think it's odd that my last two chapters haven't had any anonymous comments, when I usually get a bunch. We'll see if my test comment posts, I guess.

I've never gotten an anonymous comment. But, for the past couple of weeks my comments have been taking 1-3 days to post.

It has to be a moderation issue. It can't have anything to do with your settings. If the setting is to not accept anonymous comments, then, the option to comment anonymously is simply not available to the commenter.

Strangely, most of my anonymous comments are filled with high praise. That isn't to say I haven't been called a hack or accused of going too far (is that possible in erotica?), but most are kind and supportive.

I always wonder why they choose to be anonymous. I'm reasonably sure their Lit name is already a pseudonym. So, tell me who you are, and we can become Lit friends.

So, I continue to allow anonymous posters to comment; it only takes one kind anonymous comment to make my day.

Logging into an erotica site is a major bridge to cross for many people - I would guess that many anonymous commentators don’t have Literotica accounts. Or they may have accounts but have lost the login details or can’t be bothered logging in.

I believe the email address is the main hurdle. Most people don't know about services offering throwaway inboxes, so they think the choice is either to use their real address or setup a full-fledged second email account which is a big ask for no obvious benefit.

About half of the commenters on most of my stories are anonymous commenters. The last one I received was today. Some of the more interesting comments are left by anonymous, and if they weren't anonymous, I would probably contact them through DM to ask them to expound on their interesting comments. They probably don't want to hear from me... hence the anonymous comment.

They're probably just super busy behind the scenes. They gotta review and approve everything. So everyone who has anonymous feedback on and is currently missing out might get a storm of them in the near future.

That makes sense. I made sure anonymous commenting is allowed on my works and left a test comment. I didn't realize that the option to comment wouldn't even appear if an author didn't allow anonymous comments.

Well, my test comment posted. I don't know why someone said their anonymous comment didn't.

I’ve had no Anon comments on any of my last four works 🤷‍♀️
I am only replying anonymously now and absolutely notice that even when I read a story within hours of it being posted, my comments take days to appear when others with names come long before mine. It is so frustrating.

I’ve had anon comments again since the hiatus. If you are posting comments as yourself, Laurel will eventually put you on the list of good boys and girls, which means your comments appear immediately. That obv never happens with anon comments.

I always use my account to comment, and they have started taking two days to appear. I am starting to worry something is wrong if the site central. Maybe Laurel is sick. I don't know.

I am approaching the alleged 100 comment line to be able to bypass moderation. That will be appreciated, especially with the longer delays recently.

This is folklore. Many people have taken longer than that. I know one person who got on the good list with about thirty comments. We love to make up rules, but many of them don’t stand up to scrutiny.

FWIW, I have a hunch that Laurel may be sick. If so, I hope she recovers soon. But this is obv pure speculation by me.
