I have it in my settings to accept anonymous feedback and comments are turned on. The individual chapters allow comments as well. Someone mentioned their anonymous comment didn't post after three days, so they logged in. I also noticed my last couple releases had no anonymous comments, which is unusual. I did toggle the setting and submitted a test comment just now. I'm not sure what the issue could be. Has anyone else run into this?

Edit: This is the story: https://www.literotica.com/s/love-in-the-balance-ch-14

I've got an anon comment a few days ago:

I haven't had any other comments since then either, so I'd say everything's normal.

From what others have said, it looks like they haven't gotten an anonymous comment in over a week. Should I message Laurel? The commenter did say they tried posting an anonymous comment. I'll probably wait a bit and see if my test comment posts.

I've had my own comments posted after as long as two days, so I wouldn't be surprised if anons take even longer.

I mentioned in another thread that one of my stories just got an anonymous comment alongside a named comment, that looked like it was a single user testing out whether comments were getting through.

September first, so they are still posting. Maybe the commenter didn't submit theirs right? I still think it's odd that my last two chapters haven't had any anonymous comments, when I usually get a bunch. We'll see if my test comment posts, I guess.

It has to be a moderation issue. It can't have anything to do with your settings. If the setting is to not accept anonymous comments, then, the option to comment anonymously is simply not available to the commenter.

Strangely, most of my anonymous comments are filled with high praise. That isn't to say I haven't been called a hack or accused of going too far (is that possible in erotica?), but most are kind and supportive.

I always wonder why they choose to be anonymous. I'm reasonably sure their Lit name is already a pseudonym. So, tell me who you are, and we can become Lit friends.

So, I continue to allow anonymous posters to comment; it only takes one kind anonymous comment to make my day.

Logging into an erotica site is a major bridge to cross for many people - I would guess that many anonymous commentators don’t have Literotica accounts. Or they may have accounts but have lost the login details or can’t be bothered logging in.

I believe the email address is the main hurdle. Most people don't know about services offering throwaway inboxes, so they think the choice is either to use their real address or setup a full-fledged second email account which is a big ask for no obvious benefit.
