The 12th Annual Award Nominations are now open - see the Awards and Contests Forum.

Several of the threads appear to have been targeted by Lit members with under 100 posts all nominating the same few people.

If the awards are going to have any value, they need to have nominations - so what are yours? If an author isn't nominated, then they can't get votes.

Please think about who you would nominate and why, and then get over to the appropriate thread and get your nomination recorded.

PS And no, I don't want fifteen new alts nominating me.

Uhm... Laurel has access to the IP address of every post on this forum. Any of those nominations coming from multiple alts should be easy enough to sort out, so what's the problem?

Otherwise, are we now imposing a post# limit on your value as an author/reader on the site?

That said, everyone should certainly get up there and make his or her nominations. The more input there is, the better. Same goes for when the voting starts.

Gosh, I'm way too busy counting the 2011 Amazon Kindle sales of Dirty, Sexy Girls to participate in this.
Let's see: One.
Whoops, maybe I'm not so busy!

I think we're long past the contests having much of any value here--at least in respect to the quality of the stories.

I think I'll skip the annual altfest this year.

I kind of feel sorry for the writers that do pick up legitimate nominations from readers that have created accounts especially to nominate their favourites, but there's too few actual real readers for it to be anything other than the bad joke it's become. :(
