Anime and Comics Fans

not hteonly one. I adore anime and comics, really hard to find others near my age who don't go "eh? that's kids stuff!'

Guess you should live where I do...I have lots of "real life" friends that are into anime and comics, probably because I hang out at comics store all the time...hehehe...My husband I share a passion for anime, comics, and roleplaying...So, what are you into?? We just got finished watching an anime called "Perfect Blue." Have you seen it??

seen it. My favorites are Inuyasha, trigun, cowboy beebop. Fushigi Yugi.

Comics, Young Justis, and X-men. a few Indies that pop in here and there :)

Would hang at the shop more if I lived closer to it, as it is it's far away and seldom get to go.

My current favourite anime is Princess Mononoke. I read Tarot, 3 Little Kittens, Vampfire, Wonder Woman, Darkness, Oh My Goddess!, and Bastard.

it's cool when I can look at that list and go "OOOH yea I've read that!!!" Darkness rocks, but everyone mistakesthe title in my household, so since it like messes with people minds too much I leave off and don't get it. *shrugs*

What is the problem with Darkness?? I don't get it...We just rented Armitage, but we haven't watched it yet...have you seen it?

yea.. I don't get it either, think it's just the title, darkness equals =prince of darkness must be satanic!!! OOOOOH

Armitage.. yea seen it.. It's OK really sorta depends on your personal tastes I would say. Sub better than Dub, the vioces get on my nerves in some of the dubs.

Yeah, I generally like the sub better than dub...but when we watched Perfect Blue, we had to go with dub, cause the subtitles weren't in very good contrast, so it was difficult to read. Have you ever read any of Tarot or 3 Little Kittens? Jim Balent writes and pencils them. He is my favourite comic writer/artist.

yea in the comic store a couple times. I don't get to bring home alot (damn being broke!) so I tend to stick to teh few I collect. and just read the others in teh store. Soemtimes flipping one for another.

I am actually on the letters page of the new issue of Tarot...I am going to be the featured BroadSword Girl in the November issue. I am really excited about it!!! Anyway, what did you think of the issues you read? Do you like Jim's style? Who are your favourite comic writers/artists?

Favorite artist have been Mia Pazality (bleh I mangled that name! LOL) Wendy Pini and a few other indi comic artists I can claim friendship too LOL have to put them first, they'd kill me otherwise!!!

All time fave has been the art of and writings of Todd Dezago and Mike Wieringgo who did the mini series for Image comics Tellos. Beautiful stuff. Also the work of the artist on Warlands also high on the list and teh gent who did the begining of the Generation Next also known for some of his other works with the Eternals.

Yeah, I hear ya! I like the independent stuff too and I love manga! When it comes to the "big guys," I am definitely a DC girl all the way. Marvel has some continuity issues...
