OOC not sure where I want this to go just thought I'd introduce an alternative reality

IC

Said to be the ultimate in virtual reality games, some were said to start the program and vanish without a trace. It was part of the appeal of the product and I slide the CD-rom into my computer. The program started up easily enough asked a few questions about computer speed and such, then you were asked to imput a picture of yourself for a life-like character, or if you wanted use a premade form or imput a picture of someone else.

I went ahead and put in picture, and laughed as it asked for a full body picture, preferable clothed skimpily to get body type, or use one of theirs. I opted for realism and imput several pictures taken with my digital camera, I even put in a pussy shot for kicks.

The program said animating please wait. I went off and made something to eat and got something to drink and when I came back there I was on the screen, animated with flawless pale skin, rosey nipples, curly black lines between my legs. My extra weight trimmed away, my breasts full and perky. I selected thewatch in motion, and watched the image run, it was funny the breasts jiggled a
little but not nearly as much as in real life.

The program asked if I wanted to save the image and I clicked okay.

Then I put on my VR gear and started the program, I went through some minor clothing and gear questions and then I was in.

It was surreal, my skin felt warm, which seemed odd because you never think of cartoons having a temperature.

I started out with the beginner level storylines.

A disney flick, how quaint, but fun and helped me figure out how to work the program. Then I was on to other things, from Heavy Metal 2000 to Cool World. I made my selection and suddenly there I was in a sleazy strip joint, my body barely covered in purple strips of what seemed to be leather and thin strands of beads strung in arcs over my breasts.

Interesting I thought to myself, this was interactive, other real life users were in the room.

He fell. No, that wasn't true, someone had pushed him. A good push too, something he couldn't handle on his own. Gary turned quickly, landing on one of the cars surrounding the train. The man snarled, half his teeth missing. His tongue peered through the gaps, moving around like a snake.
Gary grabbed the man's shirt, hurling him to the and below. Quickly, he got into the vehicle.
It roared with a vengeance as he pushe the gas. This puppy needed some oil, and a good tune up. At seventy miles per hour, hurling towards a huge gap on the rails, Gary really couldn't think about auto repair.
He sped past the runaway train, moving to the front. He downshifted, pausing only a minute as the car next to him swerved wickedly close. Then he made a suicide curve, jumping back onto the train. They both crashed, a huge explosion erupting before the train. Gary climbed back on, looking at the long trail behind them. Hundreds of cars followed them. All of them after the little man.
Gary jumped, kicking one of the assholes down to the sand below. He watched at Max did the same, jumping down to one of the cars again. Gary didn't have time to watch the master at work, he had bigger fish to fry.
The bridge came up, fastly. Gary watch it under him. The long train had to slow down, going one by one on the rails. Gary ran to the back of the train, kicking another guy off.
Then it happened. One got him from behind. He cursed, falling head over heels into the ravine. He looked back as Mad Max simply waved, before watching one of the guys hanging from the side of the train.
Gary watched as the ground came closer, and closer...
Wham.
He ended up back at the bar. Gary got up, very angry at himself. He cursed, kicking one of the chairs across the room. Damnit, always at the end spot he blows it. There's got to be a way past that rail scene.
Gary took out the Beyond Thunderdome program. He would try again later, but not for a while. He didn't want to spend an hour and a half running across the desert again.
What he needed was some human contact. Gary moved to the button that would end the vr game... he paused though.
Someone was in here with him. He looked around. There, at the end was a girl.
Not many girls entered this game. Gary tried to walk away without her noticing him. He didn't do too well with women.
Whoah...
Wait just a minute. He was still in the game, wasn't he? He looked down, he actually had a good body. Washboard abs, and the like. This girl didn't know anything about him. He might even find an adventure partner.
He moved over, sitting next to her.
"Hey," he gave a warm hello, "I am..."
He couldn't give his real name, it sucked. He would give his character name.
"Garret. My name is Garret. I haven't seen you in here before, your new right?"

Majik

The smell was something else, it was odd to think of cartoons as smelling, but the bar had a distinct odor to it, of booze, smoke, and sex.

I looked over at the man who'd introduced himself, I smiled. For a random selection I was begining to like the bar. The flicker of his eyes told me he was a user like myself. "I just found this joint, rather interesting isn't it? Call my Majik," I paused taking his hand turning it over inspecting the palm for lines, another trait of a well scanned image. "What's a well built guy like you doing in a dive like this?"

I had been randomly plopped into here but found myself enjoying the atmosphere not to mention the wide display of flesh.

Garret smiled, looking down at himself. He liked it when she touched him. It had been an extra couple of thousand, but he had gotten the entire body suit. Every sensation was felt just as he would feel it, even down to his toes.
"Well," he raised his eyebrows, "You might have guessed this isn't exactly me. The face is, but I got most of the body from movie stars. It's called the perfect sampler, a favorite of mine."
He checked her out, not bad at all.
"You seem to be pretty good yourself," he looked her over once, "Very nice indeed. Is this your first time? It's a little overwhelming the first time. Once you get to know it though, it's a really great experience."
Garret grabbed a couple of beers, waling back to the table.
"It's the best they've got," he handed her one, "So, tell me a little bit about yourself?"

Majik

"Actually I'm a programmer, a friend of mine suggested this game when I was debating over whether to venture in VR programming." I sit down rather casually. "It certainly has it's advantages, I might have to get the tv show upgrade." I drink the beverage but it's wierd as I can't feel it going down my throat, I shrug and set the bottle down.

Garret smiled.
"Really? I'm a bit of a programmer myself. I just dab, I don't really do it professionally or anything." What I've got here is the action upgrade. It's heightened everything, better jumping, better kicking, and best of all, you know everything imaginable. I know karate, small arms, all of it. It's great."
Garret stopped, realizing he had just gone off again.
"I'm sorry, this is probably all boring you," he pressed a few buttons on his arm, "So tell me, what kind of VR do you like?"

Majik

"I'm more of romantic, was comtemplating the possibilities of living out the romantic story. You know taking a classic story, and inputting it into a VR simulation, this certainly does allow for more minute changes but you'd have to allow for an infinite possibilities, which may be more complex than I'm ready to consider."

Garret took another sip. He always liked using the water program he had, whatever he drank would translate into water. It was actually very ingenuis. Most people had to stop after an hour or so for water and the bathroom. Garret perked his ears, what she had said sparked interest.
"Romance? Very intriguing. Not many people come in here for that, most of them are usually action and adventure," he smiled, "Most people coming in here for romance already have a significant other to play with them..."
He paused, "That complex changes your worried about, it's not that difficult to figure out. I made my own world once, but it kept screwing up every time I was in there for more than an hour. It turned out I had totally screwed up the plant growth recycle vision. I created a specific matrix that generated a reguvination cycle. Anyway, long story short I think what you need is a matrix to help you through this thing. I wouldn't mind helping you, if you have the time?"

OOC: this is quite an interesting Concept mind if I give it a try?

IC: Nikki entered the bar, tall with waist length auburn hair that was braided at the moment she drew alot of attention. The real her was not like this girl at all, it was her face and to a point it was her body but in like she wore glasses and was considered what some called a nerd. She had been occupied with this game for quite some time and had grown to enjoy the freedom it allowed her. Walking over to the counter she ordered a drink the sat on the stool surveying the room and it's occupants.

Majik

I chuckle at his comment, "I know of a great many married women who still read romance novels. It would be more like that. I probably start with historic novels, as they would be harder to conceptualize in real life. You've introduced another problem. I hadn't considered the growth of plants." I lean back a little, "I was talking about the difficulties of someone going off the main story line, you'd have to anticipate responses and it would be a geometric chain of what might happen. Of course I've heard the restricted action programs are good for awkward people or parapalegics, but tend to freak out normal people. They don't like idea of being unable to control actions or words, but it's much like putting someone inside a character in a movie." I sigh, "Such is life."

"I know exactly what your talking about. As we speak the creators of this VR are already working on more details like that. I created my own world cause I wanted to try a few restraint matrix's, one of them being the plants. I can't get too many things to be as free as you'd like them to be..." he paused, "But it's a very good thing to do."
Garret took in what she said, "What you're thinking is a very good idea. Most mutiple player role playing threads have that same problem. Especially if some jerk goes in there just to screw everything up. As of now, the only MpRp's that work are slasher realms. A whole bunch of guys just go around killing skeletons and demons and things, it's nice, but boring after an hour or so."
He shook his head, "But it's a great concept, really interesting..."

Majik

"Multiple player realms are not feasable in most games, as they either end up as foes which kill each other off or as allies, which merely complicates gaining the goal. Especially as gamers tend to be fairly strong minded individuals. I suppose that in a romantic context one could allow for a couple to take on both rolls." I stretch slowly, "The best multiple player scenes are places like this where no script is set."

Garret nodded, understanding completely. All until the end though.
"Wait a minute, you think you could honestly find love in a place like this?"
He sighed, taking a look around the bar. At one of the stools was a rather attractive young looking woman.
"There we go, I'm going to hit on her. I'm not going to try some stupid line, or try to be something I'm not..." he smirked, "Watch how smooth this goes."
Garret walked up to her, pausing only a second to look back at Majik.
"Hi, my name is Garret. I saw you from across the way and was wondering if I could get to know you better."

Majik

I had no idea how he got that idea, I merely said this setting was simplest for free formed story rather than a set script. I shook my head and decided I'd watch him before kicking out for the night.

Garret watched as she quietly walked to the opposite end of the bar. He sat up, sighing. Quietly he walked back to Magik.
"Yeah, that was horrible. I'm sorry for that, to tell you the truth this isn't a half bad place to find romance. If they are looking though," he half looked back at the woman.
"Yeah, this wouldn't be a half bad place at all."
He smirked.
"So, when are you going to get started on this?"

"No idea, but I've got an appointment in the real world." I hit the button inside my gloves and pop back into real world, taking off my gear, I wonder if I'll ever see him again.

OOC

going to my college this weekend, to find a place to live and register and such, won't be back until wednesday and then I'm leaving to a wedding on thursday.

The week flew by as I began working on the virtual set up, the background was more important than character features. I was having difficulty with getting the water to look right.

I zipped back into reality and slept on it.

(going to calif tomorrow for four days so might respond again tonight)

Garret kept popping into the bar ever so often. He didn't dare admit it, but he was waiting for her to come back. What she proposed was something not many people had thought of before, and no one had really attemtped. All be damned if he didn't want to see it up and running.
Ordering another beer he glanced at the time. In an hour a CounterStrike Marathon was starting. First prize was a personal interface, that wasn't the important part though. The important part was that some of the greats were going to be there. People who had actually designed the game, and he was playing with them.
Man, would he kick their asses.
Garret took another sip of the beer. He sighed.

I was stumped and frustrated so I popped in my VR character and decided to hit the bar. Perhaps a little atmosphere would revive my brain.

I siddled up to the bar admiring the choice of outfit, a gauzy gray number that sort of drifted around my body.

"Hey, there you are, " Garret said, walking up to the bar. He paid for her drink, whatever she wanted, as he sat down next to her.
"I was wondering when you would show up. I have been waiting for a little while, interested in how your program is coming along."
He looked into her eyes, interested in the answer.

"Been crunching numbers lately, the water is giving me trouble though. It was simple to compile a realistic castle. I just have to make sure the weather stays fairly constant unless storyline calls for a storm. My brain is fired," I sipped the drink.

Garret nodded. He understood what it was like to go so far and have something stand in your way. He racked his brain for some help.
It came to him.
"I want to show you something," he raised his eyebrows, "It's a little place that not a lot of people know about. Really beautiful, and it might give you some ideas."
He held out his hand, "It won't take long, I promise."

"Sounds like fun," I brought up my command screen and gave him control of location, the world went fuzzy for a little bit before we arrive.

The falls rushed past them, beautifully. Garret stepped back, watching it all, it was breathless. Utterly breathless.
Every time he saw it, no matter how much, it still made him stand in awe. The waterfall was huge, but that wasn't what made this place so spectacular. It was the complexness of it all.
The huge waterfall broke up, and went down several different routes before ending up mist. It was so far down that the water all turned to mist before it reached the ground. They were now standing in a small pool, where the mist was collected.
"It's been an inspiration to me, ever since I first saw it. I come here often, especially if some program or other is bothering me."
He sat down on a bench on the far side of the pool, still staring at it all.
"It's an open forum but hardly anyone ever comes here. Mostly couples who just want to make out. I can easily spend hours here. Sometimes I draw, or just write, or jot down a few lines of code... but mostly I just...."
He smiled," "I just stare."
