Speaking of 'Big Oil', did you read the blurb the other day about the Canadian oil reserves? If you throw in the Western shale oil that brings the North American reserves (not counting Mexico) up to about 1.5 trillion barrels. Pretty respectable when compared to the Saudis 260 billion. And Eastern Siberia hasn't been fully inventoried yet.

Virtually everything they're doing is backfiring. Alito, the intercepts, I'm trying to think of what's gong their way.

The last I heard there were three Repubs and two Dems going to get some papers re. Abramoff. Looks pretty 'equal opportunity' to me. There are some rumblings that perhaps the Dems have a few other surprises coming. But that's just rumor now.

Dean's doing a real bang up job raising money. What is it now 5:1 in favor of the Repubs?

The noise out of Isreal is March is the cutoff month re. Iran. That is the alledged deadline for diplomacy to work. And of course, the UN is doing what? Even Chirac seems to have come around to the realization the Fundamentalist Islam is a real problem. Scared the shit out of Kofi, he's consulting with Carter.

Russia wants the spot market to go up, being a net exporter and all. And China wants the oil, oil from anyone, to keep their growth going.

Although, since I'm not into politics at all, its like I'm starting from ground zero and so I read some, but not sure of all of the background info. So, still unsure. I have learned a bit, yet I think a person has to spend a lot of time getting into it to fully understand things. Its like golfing, you have to spend alot time at it to get aquire reasonable ability.
