And then, she didn't show.

There must be some misunderstanding
There must be some kind of mistake
I waited in the rain for hours
And you were late

Now it's not like me to say the right thing
But you could've called to let me know
I checked your number twice, don't understand it
So I went home

Well I'd been waiting for this weekend
I thought that maybe we could see a show
Never dreamed I'd have this feeling
Oh but seeing you is believing
That's why I don't know why
You didn't show up that night

There must be some misunderstanding
There must be some kind of mistake
I was waiting in the rain for hours
And you were late

Since then I've been running around trying to find you
I went to the places that we always go
I rang your home but got no answer
Jumped in my car, I went round there
Still don't believe it
He was just leaving

There must be some misunderstanding
There must be some kind of mistake...

- Genesis, Misunderstanding.

Ever got stood up? Tell us about it.

This poor man went through all of that trouble to post something serious, and you two decide to act silly and derail the thread from its original purpose? That's disrespectful.

Take this post seriously; I think this young man has something serious to say.

I've been stood up; it was our first date. I had asked the girl if she'd like to go see the movies, and she had said that she would when pigs fly. The little guy didn't like the hot air balloon too much, but I did finally got Wally to fly. I informed her of my feat and of the time and place; she never showed. I was heart-broken.

I can't say I have gotten stood up in the sense that I have gone to an arranged meeting place and the guy didn't show. I have made tentative plans with people and they have never called to confirm, and I have also had plans where the other person backed out last-minute. It's stil better than actually going somewhere and waiting for someone who doesn't show up.

hmmmm

I have not been stood up nor stood anyone up, though I have a few girl friends and guy friends who have been. Hopefully I will never have to worry about being stood up. It must really be a bad experience. :( Take care. Later.

I'm so sorry, sweetie.

I don't mean to sound cliche'd..but...

She wasn't fucking worth it.:)

Awwwwwwwwwww

Any woman who couldn't appreciate the humor in being taken literally was a waste of good estrogen anyway. I would have been lmao........all the way to the movies to meet you.:)

In answer to the thread's question....only by family but usually there was a last minute phone call to tell me they had to cancel.

Sadly it is called life

It's a cop out!
basic things, at least ring, nothing worse than being left standing!
It destroys self, makes hesitance next time, eventually makes cynical!

Been there, had that done.
Now, I shrug, their loss, not mine!
I have learnt myself, I am worth myself, I am a true friend, I stand by my friends.

I believe in myself.

Forget it and go on, it is truly their loss, not yours!
