What I'd like to see is a really sexual interracial love story set in the milieu of Middle Earth.

I don't have the patience or the skill to write such an involved story. The research would have to be meticulous, or the LOTR geeks would eat you alive.

Basically, this is the general theme of how I'd envision it. This would represent a departure from the canonic history of middle earth as detailed in Tolkiens books. Fan fiction is what I believe they call it. Sauron (or perhaps Melkor), would be incarnated as a tall, powerful, magnetically handsome black man of prodigious endowment. He would set about seducing Galadriel (or Luthien Tinuviel). She would, at first, resist but gradually become drunk with lust. Eventually she would surrender to her feminine urges and go to him. Sauron would have built a great palace for her on the site of Utumno. He'd make her his White queen yadda, yadda, yadda...

Maybe a huge host of Drow could be included somehow. Also, I'm thinking that Ungoliant could put in an appearance, but that's just a thought.

These sound like pretty interesting ideas. I have to admit when I think of interracial Middle Earth the first pairing that pops into my mind is Frodo and Arwen Evenstar. Just the memory of that scene in the first movie where Liv Tyler is riding with a sickly Elijah Wood in her arms...even having read that book as a kid and knowing it would never happen, I imagined her finding a secluded glade where she would lay down Frodo and revive him with the power of her Elven lips, thighs and desires.

I read these posts to my husband, who IS one of those meticulous research LOTR geeks, and he started in on a lecture about how it could be possible if it was set during Second Age when Sauron was working with Galadriel and Celebrimbor ... I stopped him right there ;)

I thought the Tolkien estate tracks down and stomps on fanfic?

I thought Lit already had some LotR fanfic? And I thought it was *our* legal right to post fanfic thanks to the Penhouse magazine court case that Lit posts the details to?

If it was written with Galadriel as the female lead (as opposed to Lúthien or Melian, who may be even better choices) then I'd agree. Sauron would most likely have become smitten with her in the early part of the Second Age in the land of Beleriand. I see this as taking place before the marriage of Galadriel and Celeborn.

As I imagine it, the consummation of their relationship would occur in the late third age/ early fourth age. This would deviate significantly from LOTR. The whole Mordor thing would merely be a feint to occupy his enemies, while he rebuilt Utumno as an impenetrable fortress in the north. Within the ice covered walls of Utumno would be verdant forest, rolling hills, and a wondrous palace for Galadriel. This inexplicably temperate climate would be the result of something much more powerful and valuable than The One Ring, a Silmaril (recovered either from the sea or some outcropping of volcanic rock). This silmaril (which your hubby can confirm, is worth more than all the treasure in middle earth) set in an intricately worked crown or necklace of mithril. This crown/necklace would be Sauron's secret gift to Galadriel when he took her as his bride.

If I wrote this, I'd be too tempted to drag it on endlessly, and to go into too much detail for a short erotic story. I'd have to distill this down to one manageable episode. Also, despite the LOTR theme, I'd want it to be really smutty ... LOL

That scene might happen, but it would be Samwise doing the kissing ... LOL

I don't know if that is or isn't true, but the Internet is fairly littered with LOTR fan fiction.

If what you've said turns out to be true, I suppose I'll have to turn my attentions to an interracial Dune story.

That might not be so bad I liked the movie!

I read the books ages ago.
Never saw the film, but I seem to remember Jessica had a child by the Fremen?
Now, that could be interesting.

If you are into BDSM you could have a field day with the Harkonnen.

Let's see, what else ...

Oh dear, I think I'm getting carried away.

Actually no, she was pregnant by the Duke Leto when he was assinated. Her daughter, Alia, was born in the Fremen Sietch Tabr, but her father was Leto.

The bdsm idea intrigues me. I'm thinking more along the lines of the Lady Jessica as the principle character in a D/s story. After all, every man From The Duke Leto to Paul M'uad Dib to Gurney Halleck to Stilgar to Duncan Idaho to Prince Farad'n Corrino either was or wanted to be her slave.
