I don't see many "I'm bored" threads right now... everyone seem to have fun in expense of other people dying out there.</sarcasm> Blind patriotism is even more amusing. "We stay by our president" ... I can't help but think "If president jump of a cliff would you follow him to?" It is amazing how people refuse to understand that there are Iraq patriots who may not like Sadam but love their own country. How would you feel if Russia or China decided to "librate" United States from our current dictator. I hate Bush as much as the next guy but I sure wont stand some asshole busting into my home with a rifle clamming to be liberation army. War is underway ... protest or not it will not be over soon. Sad thing is unless they murder every single last of them, there will be one guy that manages to sneak into this country and blow up a building with some one I love inside it. How can I blame him for revenging his loved ones killed by American solders anyway he can? I would have done the same thing in his place. The source of terrorism is not Osama Bin Laden and it sure is not Iraq. The one true terrorist is sitting in a White house.

There is a difference between our president and theirs.

Our president doesn't routinely torture or kill his own people.

Our "dictator" ran for office and won, whether people like it or not.. or feel that he actually did win... how many ran against Saddam? How many would have survived had they attempted such a thing?

I just think it's a bit much to compare liberating Iraq to liberating America, tho I did get what your sentiments are. Not everyone in Iraq will be pleased that we are doing our best to get him out, but I think you'll find the vast majority will be. Especially family members of people he's killed or ordered killed.

Well, I get the sense from your post that we, in some form, had September 11 coming.

Whereas the INY logo has represented the healing of a community who is coping from being viciously attacked.

Maybe I didn't read what he was saying correctly and I don't want to be insulting as to say his sentiments are naive.

If you look at the picture in only black and white, yes I'd be severly pissed if another country invaded us with the intentions of liberation.

But you have to look at the shades of grey and comparing that to what is going on in Iraq just doesn't stand up. I will say this however, if we had a leader who has done even a 1/4 of the atrocities against us as Saddam has his own people.. I'd welcome the help from outside sources. I'd welcome the chance that my child wouldn't have to live in fear if he voiced his opinions against his government that could possibly lead to his own death. Unlike we are free to do now.
