I disagree. There’s an angry populism building in the country, and Bernie Sanders and his cohorts (genuine populists) are positioning themselves to tap into that angry populism after DonOld and the MAGAt republicans’ faux populism is exposed as empty promises when they FAIL to deliver any meaningful relief to workers
and actually make things worse for them. Obama doesn’t really fit in with the current populist movement - especially after this election. He has the stench of “elitism” on him - just like the Clintons, etc. (Ironically, DonOld is the most genuinely elitist of them all.)

I doubt it will be Bernie leading the ticket in 2028, but it will be someone with his blessing, imho. (Is the country ready for an AOC presidency?) And there will likely be a large contingent of genuinely populist representatives running for and winning seats in congress in 2026-2028.

Of course, DonOld and the MAGAt republicans could shock the world and deliver progressive wins for the working class populists that helped get him elected…which means Bernie and the progressive economic populists still win.

Progressive economic populism is winning in two years or four years. “Nothing can stop what’s coming”.
