Wait a minute, I have lots of family in South Dakota, including my grandpa. We don't want to be a part of North Dakota, but if they will join our state, it might be okay. I actually have family in Omaha, as well, but I don't ever see them. Streamlining could be a good idea, get some more electoral college votes for the midwest.

Hmmm... I'm offended and mad. As a Hispanic, NEW MEXICAN, I am stunned that you can say such rude, stereotypical, and slanderous things about Hispanics. You would never say anything like that about Blacks or Asians... what you think that Hispanics are just too lazy to care... or wait. They'll never know because they're uneducated and probably can't read anyway, right?
It's people like you, the ones that say that they aren't racist and that hate is not a family value, that spread racism, not the ones that openly discriminate. The people who openly voice their view are identifiable, and nowadays nobody really listens to them. You are the ones I worry about, though; the ones that complain about Affirmative Action and the ones who tell little jokes here and there, not really hurting anyone, but subtly spreading and perpetuating the racist view.
There's a reason (though not the sole reason, I know) that minorities live in the ghetto. It's because of this subtle racism. A job here and there is given (supposedly without prejudice) to a white man over an "ethnic" man, unwittingly keeping racism alive and so keeping minorities in the ghetto. Do you see what I'm trying to say? What you said was wrong, and though it seemed harmless, it impacted more people than you know... ever-so-subtly.

I DO live in the ghetto, trust me. I'm proud to be poor white trash. I'm not of any minority except for being female and I AM seeing a mexican american who slanders his own people a lot more often and a lot worse than Tiggs or I ever could. He not only does it himself but so do his friends at HIS encouragement. He lives about 3 blocks from me, he's in the Ghetto also and he'll be the first to call himself "A ghetto Mexican" I wouldn't have even said anything about it had he not said something first. I did not slander "All" Hispanic people, I slandered him and if I wish to do that to my own boyfriend, I can. It's not like he doesn't know considering he read our posts and laughed at them harder than me or Tiggs. As a matter of fact, he even told me what else I should have said. So, even though you disagree with what we said, we didn't aim that at Hispanics in general, we aimed it at one with his full knowledge.
