Have you ever heard a song you dismissed as mediocre as a kid, only to suddenly get it and appreciate it after forgetting about it for many, many years?

I like when this happens. It makes me dust off something I forgot all about and it's a bonus to me.

I would like to hear about yours. Don't be lame and simply post a youtube link. Introduce it.

Mine which inspired the thread: Sentimental Lady by Bob Welch. I just heard it for the first time in decades. I thought this song was boring when it was released. But hey, how can a child get much from this:

You are here and warm
But I could look away and you'd be gone
'Cause we live in a time
When meaning falls in splinters from our lives
And that's why I've traveled far
'Cause I come so together where you are

And all of the things that I said that I wanted
Come rushing by in my head when I'm with you
14 joys and a will to be merry
And all of the things that they say are very

Sentimental gentle wind...

(;This describes my mindset when I divorced... for a few years!)

Here is my song. What is yours?

I was thinking for a song for this thread. I'm only 21 so my childhood days wasn't too far again. I didn't like this at first because I didn't understand. Me being a child I didn't want to hear about ways to die. But as I got older and started living that life, I started to realized where he was coming from.

When you live by the sword, you die by the sword
I'll probably die in the vocal booth spitting out raw (or)
Die on stage, ripping' down tours
Die from AIDS, tricking' out-a-town whores
Die cause I didn't have one in the pipe
Might go out like Raymond, went out on his bike
Or die on a death mission, two tech's spitting
No vest section from my chest missing
Die cause the jewels in my necklace glisten
In a V twizzy in a reckless collision
Or die in the streets over something' petty
Cause a broke ass nigga tried to say I ass beat him.

I didn't think it was mediocre but I didn't get it. I remember hearing it on a Saturday night oldies show as young kid. I remember the thinking I love Smokey's voice and what a pretty song, but how do you love someone you don't like? As an adult, I not only understood the song but I lived it. you've really got a hold on me by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.
