me and my wife are hoping to start some anal fun, can we just use vaseline or do we need something else on a restricted buget. Thanks for your help in advance:)

Don't ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever use vaseline for any penetrative act. Ever. Never ever.

Use a quality water- or silicone-based lube.

The original KY lube is for medical, one-insertion lubrication, not sex. Avoid it for sexual acts.

Other than that, read the Blank Manual (at the top of the How To board).

I-D Glide original is our fave, and we've tried a bunch. Have friends that think so, too. Beats the heck outta ky; vaseline just isn't an option. It's WAY worth the money to get it right and avoid turning her sour on anal from a bad experience. Stay far away from anything that numbs- they're a recipe for injury.

I've heard corn oil works, the main problems: it' s messy, and almost any kind of oil will degrade condoms, if that's a factor.

Everyone eventually develops preferences, I'm partial to the silicone myself, it's tasteless, and it cleans up a lot easier, it is expensive but a little bit goes a long way, particularly if you supplement with saliva, which is a natural lubricant, and also contains digestive enzymes that can help control potential E. coli contamination - but dries out and has to be replenished frequently.

I don't recommend baby oil, it isn't viscous or slippery enough, and the residue can be sticky and hard to clean, most other commercial lotions contain alcohol which can not only dry out mucous membranes, but can burn like hell.

Same goes for soap, it will dry the skin out later, due to dissolving the natural oils and mucous that protect those membranes.

I do recommend some vitamin E oil as aftercare, it will promote healing from microabrasion, and general health in the epidermal layer, just make sure it doesn't contain alcohol.

to be honest, we dont use any lube but baby oil would be good to use

No, it would not be "good to use". Like vaseline, baby oil is oil based. It degrades condoms and mucks about with your internal workings. READ: bad for your guts.

As others have said, finding your ideal brand can take some time, but any water- or silicone-based lube will be well worth it.

So, don't use any kind of oil or petroleum based product, soap, moisturizer, aloe, syrup, or beverage. They are all, for a variety of reasons, bad to dangerous to use as sex lube.

Lubes

TypicalDeviant is correct that anything oil-based will damage latex condoms (and toys) and can seriously mess up your digestive system. (Also applies to her vagina; oil-based stuff can easily lead to infections as her body can't clean itself easily.) Water- and silicone-based lubes are the way to go. Remember, for anal play you can NEVER use too much. Apply early, apply often.

I also completely agree with the advice to avoid any kind of numbing lube. If it hurts, you're not doing it right. Take your time; go slow; use lots of lube. The anal area is much less resilient and damage-resistant than the vagina, so it's much easier to cause tiny scratches, tears, and so on. Consequently, infections are easier to acquire. So use normal lube and if it hurts, back off, slow down, and use more lube.

Lots of lube and patience = fun, great anal play!

IF it's expensive then it's the right stuff ;)

Silicon or water based all the way.

water based is best but if you both dont have the risk of giving each other a std/sti (if you dont use condoms for vaginal sex) there is no reason why you cant go bareback but its not advisable to switch from anal to vaginal sex as you can transfer bactera to her vagina.

ive had lots of anal sex with the missus (it was the only way to have sex without the risk of pregnancy) without a condom and we used baby lotion to lube but k&y is the recommended choice.

if in doubt use a condom and a water based lube... happy shafting ... baz

If your on a budget use what ever edible oil you have available. Corn oil or even olive oil will work. Messy, but then thats part of the fun? Some discount lotions might work, you should be able to buy generic KY lube at walmart or another discount store! :)

Where to buy silicone lube ??

Are there any places other than adult toy stores to buy quality silicone lube? Does CVS, Walgreens or some place like that carry it? I've never seen silicone lube for sale anywhere but at adult stores and on the web?

Is there a particular site that has reasonable prices?

Thanks

you dont have to go to a sex store or even order online..just go to your local pharmacy store, cvs, rite aid, i've even seen some lubes in the supermarket like shoprite.. and fyi..it all really depends on how turned on she is..try to get her horny as hell dont rush to it, little tip get her to the point where shes about to cum, then start to put it in and when its getting a little painful thats when you make her cum...and you can have your fun while shes lost on her high..lol works for me..;)

You're in for a treat...

Anal sex is a MUST for my husband and I. It's just so fucking incredible. I agree with the method proposed by poisonedLust, above. If you work it right, she could be begging for it all night!

As for lube, can't help you there...I've never met one I liked. We use our natural lube, and if that's not enough, a little spit works great for us. Don't look at me that way! We're talking about anal sex here, what's a little spit on the dick amongst friends?
