Some of you remember my story. It was written a few months back.
In short my Tamil SO left me several months ago because his spritual leader (who channels the future)said no to our relationship, that it 'would not be good for life' and his family took this as meaning someone would die. He was scared. His family as hysterical. He was raised on this stuff. At the same time he got on a project in DC after being unemployed for 5 months and went there.
2 months later on the 4th of July weekend he came back to NYC and said he wanted a second chance with me - that he as trying to come out of these beliefs and that he knew he couldn't live basing his decisions on someone channeling the future for him. None of his NRI friends here follow those beliefs. His family is very orthodox that way.
His family had started looking for a wife again for him and he told them not to because he needed time. He then told them he wanted to be with me again after he came back and he got the same response from them. So we were in limbo.
I proposed I write a letter to them so they could get to know me since it seems everyone in India thinks American women are immoral whores (just because they are not virgins?!?!?). I did that and he thought it was good so he will be sending it to them soon.
I just wanted to give everyone an update.
