Okay Ladies and Gents.

Graybread and I had a discussion over a post he made and I admired in a mutual thread together. One that made me shiver and gasp with it's eloquence and it's evillness.

And I uttered a challenge to him.

"The Baddest of the Bad"

We've been tossing ideas about and being the generous and genius gent that he is he came back with another even greater thought.

"Why not poll everyone and challenge them?" He pm'd

To write with us but how would we decide? I asked

"To write against but then to write for each and everyones consideration" We decided

Thus?

A challenge to all

FIND a partner to write with

Bring that partner and your definition of "bad" (as in evil, not poor writing skills)

And for the next twelve weeks write your heart out. Gift us with your eloquence and skill in defining what that word means. And judge yourself and your fellow writers in a poll to be posted for that purpose.

At the end of the twelve weeks we'll have each had a great deal of fun in writing and critiquing our fellow writers

And the baddest of the bad will have decided.

So join us

I of course am the bad guy. Lancaster Greene is the name, devilish charm is the game.

So everybody and anybody step right up and take the challenge.

The badder you are the badder we like it.

My only request is that you don’t just throw up some weird off the wall stuff. Let your story have some plot.

I say anything goes. I saw someone asking for a werewolf writer earlier. That would make a good thread. Or Vampires, demons, succubus’s, anything along that line.

Wouldnt mind doing this, but not having good luck finding a writing partner. Seems that the threads I join don't go anywhere. The one person I did ask has other things going on in his life right now. So if anyone needs a writing partner please yell.

Three months for villains (male or female, human or otherwise) to do their worst -- or at least try. I think the reads alone will be great fun.

With a flash of a sword, the twirl of a cape, and the roguish wink of an eye...

What, a challenge? How could this be? A question of defining evil (or good, depending upon your view..), and I just now am alerted to this? Quickly, where is my perfumed cravat? Where are my gloves, with which I might throw out my challenge? Where are my writing implements? Where is my writing partner?

Oh, okay, on that last one, my normal partner has taken up with someone else. This doesn't phase me, no, not a bit.

Really, I'm up for this...

You would have me stand for morals and decency? My screen name is Stalwartone, and I have been considered for sainthood. (Okay, perhaps by myself, but I think even a single vote counts..)

Or...

You would have me be recognized as a champion of all that is vile and unsavory? I have seen the depths of the darkness that lies beneath Hell's fiery core! (I was married.) I have toiled in the unspeakable abyss that caused the mightiest heroes to quaver. (Actually, I still work there.) I have borne witness to the filth and degradation that humanity calls art! (Springer's on right now...)

Umm, okay, enough of the rambling. I'd be eager to take up this challenge, pending a writing partner.

I've given it a little thought and would consider writing a Phedre thread.

Phedre is cursed to experience pleasure and pain as the same thing....and is some sort of myth/story she has a rose tattoo on her back and has other things going on. Haven't researched it much but it would be the perfect kind of thread for this challenge. Anyone interested in working this out with me. PM and I'll be happy to spin evilly into the future....

By the way, this is an open thread to discuss the roleplays for this competition and to advertise and acquire co-writers to play along. The only requirement is that one character be in competition for the "baddest of the bad" -- any genre -- just need a "baddie".

There are usually goodies and baddies in my threads!
Though I play victim pretty well, I don't mind having a go at being the bad gal in a story.

Will be busy for another week or so, but if I can drum up an idea and partner I'll be in.
