An old story of mine lost to time called 'The Other Woman.'

A woman meets a man at a nice hotel bar. He is well dressed, charming, funny and good looking. But there are hints he is married. He has a tan line on his ring finger. A lingering aroma of woman's perfume. A fresh, smear of lipstick on his collar. Instead of turning her off this idea excites her. Something forbidden and secretive. Feeling a little tipsy she heads back to his room. This is followed by great, passionate sex. She wakes up to the sound of the shower running. Feeling a little too exposed as she wakes up nude she wraps herself in a bathrobe. "OK, last night I was a little drunk. Maybe not making the best decisions. I should get dressed and never see this man again," she reasons with herself. "In fact, I should go in there and shame him for cheating on his wife," she said righteously. She stormed into the bathroom and pulled open the shower door. She stared at his naked, slightly muscular body and all she could remember was the night before. He looked up at her surprised. She looked up at him to give him a stern lecture but no words came out. Instead she dropped her robe to the floor and she entered the shower. She closed the shower door behind her.

To me, it bears the hallmarks of having been written by a woman. It's basically a romance trying its annoyed best to cope with a sex content which it would prefer to be without.

In an old Marilyn Monroe movie (The Seven Year Itch), Marilyn expresses a strong preference for sleeping with married men over single men. Her reasoning: "A married man can't ever ask you to marry him!" This story snippet made me think of that quote.
