It was reported on one of the Sunday talk shows that a recent poll was taken in Israel.

It said that 92 percent of the people polled were certain that they'd either be killed or injured in a murder bombing.

92 percent?!?!?!?

Holy fucking shit.

yeah, things are bad for both sides, although ONE side is defintely more at fault than the other (palestinian terrorist plo bastards).

I heard another interesting stat...in the last year 44 percent of all United Nation resolutions passed have been condemnations of Israel's behavior. That is such bullshit...hey, we were attacked once on one day and went and blew up another country. Israel is attacked almost everyday and are just trying to end the terrorism and find peace.

And for anyone who sides with the Palestinians, that is fine and you have the right to think and feel how you want, but let me make one small point. In 2000 the Israeli Prime Minister offered Arafat a Palestinian nation with 97% of the land the palestinians are in now, 3% of Israeli occupied land to make up for the other 3%, part of the city of Jerusalem, and a palestinian capital in Jerusalem, among other things. This was everything Arafat had publicly ever asked for, whenever he discussed peace (important to note that exception). Arafat said no...then he went on palestinian tv and repeated his stance that the palestinian people will never accept Israel as a neighbor and will not rest until the Jews leave or are destroyed. Many of Arafat's aides have said the same thing in print. The sad fact is the Palestinian "leaders" are terrorists who commit terrorist acts on their own people by brainwashing them into becoming terrorists. They do not act in the best interests of their people. Instead they teach little kids false information about the history of the land, complete with false maps, and make them learn martyr prayers in grade school, then fund the terrorist groups that recruite the kids as they grow up. It is a mess, a real mess for all involved and the only solution is to change the leadership, but removing Arafat alone won't solve a thing. I think in the long run this will head into a nasty war because the atmosphere in the world is turning anti jew and they are only defending themselves (with some occasional over use of force, i will admit, but heck, tell me blowing up afghanistan and wiping out there government wasn't an overuse of force on our part, not that any of it is right). Last thing, I read in the Chicago Tribune today that an arabic translation of Hitler's Mein Kampf has become a best seller in the middle east and in London's middle eastern neighborhood. Bad stuff...

that is so sad.

it makes them sound so resigned to it.

I hope that doesnt turn out to be the case over there, but I doubt the Palestinians will stop until they have killed as many Jews as they can.

the comment by one of the newsies right after the host said that was "That sounds like a nation on the edge of a nervous breakdown".

All the talk shows today were very telling on the Israeli/Palestinian point. There was a Palestinian Cabinet official there representing those folks and he kept insisting on a few points I thought interesting:

1) There's no such thing as a "Provisional state". Once Palestine is granted Statehood, they fully expect that they will be able to get all "their" land back.

2) They can't possibly stop the violence until Israel capitulates and grants them both statehood and the 1967 border arrangement, with more land negiations to follow. Only then could he say that the bombings might stop.

3) Arafat is the duly-elected leader of the Palestinian people. He has an election coming in June. If he's re-elected then he'll serve. If he is not, then "probably he will step down". Yep, those are his exact words. (It doesn't make me feel good about that election. How about you?).

4) The reason the bombings can't stop is because they have no way to do that. The Israeli "occupation" has reduced their "police force" so that they can't arrest anyone.

It was all the same old bullshit. I wish just once some interviewer would call them on it and ask some tough questions. :(

Arafat will be elected. If you were a Palestinian, would YOU cross the little murdering bastard...?
