Ok, I've got one:

From the works of Plato:
Re: the Republic
In the analogy of the cave, what did the sun represent?

And if you can answer that, who truly wrote this dialog? It is brought forth to mention in the dialog, between Socrates and Glaucon. So is this a dialog of Plato or Socrates? And whomever it is, why?

It seems to me that the sun represented the ideal form of the good, the idos (I think that was his term). This ideal form of the good was the source of all knowledge and all truth (or something to that effect.)

Correct, the Sun represent "the Good," usually seen as God, or what one would consider the highest form.

Anyone know who truly wrote the dialogs and can explain it?

Good answer mid ;)

Ah Fair One. You wish to study philosophy. How about a logic equation, and let's take it this time from the Bible. I love to play philosophical games with people it was another major of mine. Here it is:

If God is all powerfull, and God can create anything,
Then God can create a rock that he cannot lift.
Therefore, God is not God.

What is wrong with this?

Work with me here, I'm thinking...
If He creates something, isn't it OF him? So would he need to lift OF himself?

I know that's not right, but it bothers me when I have to reflect at 1am...forgive me.

I do have a serious question for you...for a test tomorrow...
well, a FEW: answer what you can...
Project Plato's theory of teleology to a person.
Describe Covey's "1st things 1st."
Describe Covey's being "Pro-active."
Define and describe Aristotles 2 types of virtues.
Describe Epicurus's goal of life.
Describe Stoics goals.
Define new beliefs that christianity brought to phil.

That should keep you pretty busy. Ill check back in the morning if you are able to do anything with this. Test is at 9am!

What no takers on this, I doth understand as it requires some study in the field of Philosophy. I will give you an even more difficult challenge one that requires deductive reasoning. Watch for it.

ok, two problems here, first i never took philosophy and second,,,,,, why would god(if there is such a thing) want to create something more powerful them himself?

according to Christianity...God created man in HIS image, with the potential to become like unto God himself. A man cannot lift a huge rock. :)

Two things:
1. Is it possible that God is so powerful that he could make something that even HE couldn't lift?
2. Then...after reading it over and over, I've decided this to be a non-truth statement.

ah

Oh Tamer...you certainly have started up quite a thread...one I must visit again when my head isn't drug induced foggy...for I shall certainly enjoy playing in this one..

Hope you are well, my friend...*hugs*
