An exceptional new story by EllaRegina....

I haven't used the Author's Hangout to point people to an exceptional story in a long time. I don't know EllaRegina personally, and did fill her in that I was doing this. Her new story "The Gift of the Magic Lump of Coal" is worth reading for several reasons. First of all, it's a parody, and most parodies are silly, lame, or otherwise unsatisfactory. This story doesn't replace the original, it forces the reader to taste old wine in new bottles. EllaRegina, with only a few words relatively speaking, paints a lovely portrait and is obviously the master of her craft.

My concern for this story began when the author related to me thst the rating is in the gutter, LESS than 4.0!!! Perhaps it is just me, but I think this story could easily be in the 4.50-4.75 range. I was hoping some nice people would read the story and either leave a comment here or send a PM. Unfortunately, I forgot how to do a story link! Not quite the place to post this, but I agree-- EllaRegina has been on my favorites list from her first story onward. She confuses a lot of readers, IMO. Her stories are slyly funny, and quite surreal.
