Not to worry. The one thing you would most regret having missed was his interview with former FEMA Director Michael "Heck of a Job" Brown," which I googled this evening and watched for the first time, nearly causing me to swallow my uvula.

I should probably not admit this, but the first time I watched the Colbert Report I didn't know it was a spoof of the Fox talk shows; I thought Comedy Central was giving in to pressure from the right to provide balanced satire. He's that authentic, or Fox is that easy to spoof, or I was that tired...For whatever reason, I didn't know for certain that it was a spoof until he pronounced both "Colbert" and "Report" with a soft 't.' I love him for that.
