Does having sex build up your immune system? I know I've heard or read it some where...

There was a study mentioned a week or so ago that found that monkeys that were more promiscuous had stronger immune systems.

The obvious conclusion that more sex improves your immune system is an erroneous assumption. I suspect the only valid conclusion (if any) is that if your ancestors were promiscuous, then you will have inherited a stronger immune system from thos ancestors who didn't didn't fall prey to STDs.

I always try this argument when either my wife or I is not feeling well, whether it's a cold, a headache, soreness, whatever, so far, she hasn't been willing to try my prescription.

Maybe if someone can post here that it does help (hint, hint, hint) I can print it out, then tell her I found it on the web, so it MUST be true .

If you are promiscuous and you have safe sex using a condom, you wouldn't build up your immune system, but you would decrease your chances of catching STDS--good enough? I think so...
