An Apology

Have you ever had one of those moments when you realize, all to late, that what you thought was great is really just a piece of garbage? I recently submitted another story in a series I've written and had thought it was a good story. I did some editing to make sure that it met all of Literotica's requirements and they accepted.

However, having gone back to read it on Literotica a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach formed, and grew continuously worse the more I read of it. Though there's nothing wrong with the storyline itself, it seems to me very choppy and disjointed in rhythm. There were also a few other errors which I am sure are quite obvious; some spelling and punctuation specifically.

So for any of you who may read my latest submission, I humbly apologize. I realize this site is a platform for amateur writers like myself to get their stuff out there and seen, but being my own worst critic I am majorly disppointed in what was posted. Naughty, Savannah! obviously needs some more work.

it's an honor to see someone take ownership of, and responsibility for, their handiwork. i think that speaks volumes of you as a person.

i haven't read your story but i'm sure it's not as bad as you believe it to be. whatever the case, i'm sure past and future performance will leave this to be a non-issue.

good going! and keep writing!!!

I haven't read your story yet Savannah but wanted to let you know that you can rework your story and then resubmit it as revised. I don't know all the particulars but check the writer's resources and guidelines for the information.

We are all our worst critics, give yourself a break. :rose:

Thanks!

Thanks EJFan and Cathleen for the words of encouragement and advice. I will definitely re-submit my story.

I'm not quite sure how this fits on a "How to" forum?

Possibly the Author's forum would have been a better choice?

To respond to Lady G, you're right I should have posted to the author's forum but I misclicked and didn't realize my mistake until it had already posted. Another apology, perhaps? LOL

Been there and done that myself, not here as yet, posted a story then re-read it and wished to shite I hadn't... Don't worry too much about it, all authors have bad days, even the rich and famous ones, and I think you'll find that you are being overly self critical, we all do that. Best thing to do is pull it and re-write it if that would ease your mind, or leave it as it is and put it down to experience. Chances are you'll re-read it again in a month or so and think... 'Oh, not that bad after all'.

I can move it if you like?

Savannah did you know Lit has a bunch of Volunteer editors who will go over your story and help you with it before you submit it?
