Sad.
I wish you could say it was unexpected.
On "the other website", I'm shocked by how judgmental and nasty people are being over this. It's good to see some humanity over it.![]()
Hopefully she is remembered for being a person and her talent. If they talk about her addiction, I hope it's not to rip her apart but to bring more awareness of addiction being a disease.
Very sad. I have had Back To Black playing on my CD player this week but can't face listening to it for now. I read she had been diagnosed bi-polar but refused medication....if it were true, it may explain a lot and unfortunately, if someone had acted in her best interests at that time, may have prevented her too early death.

She was extremely talented, no doubt. She was also a junkie. As "we" are taught in NA, "using" leads to one of three places ultimately...jails, institutions, or death. I don't blame anyone but her for her own demise because IMO she was given multiple opportunities to put her life on a better path as well as vast financial resources and in essence pissed both of those away...
Addicts are still people. PEOPLE.

The people who made her famous and made money off of her knew she was addicted. As far as I can tell they did nothing but encouraged her and plant stories about her to keep the brand hot and money rolling in. They will enjoy the uptick in revenue from her death and dine out on this tragedy for some time to come. That is very sad, IMO.
She was talented. She was a mess. Most of those who said anything about seemed to be getting off on her mess a bit and in some cases out right profiting from it.
This is clearly a tragedy. It doesn't matter if she wouldn't or couldn't help herself. It's still a tragedy.

I actually saw her perform in Dubai a few months ago. I was really looking forward to seeing her and sadly it was the most God-awful concert I've ever been to. She spent a lot of time distractedly picking her nails, warbling incoherently, and looking angrily pained at the people streaming from the venue.
I actually felt like giving her a big hug and a cuppa tea even though I'd paid the earth to see her.
What a waste of an incredible voice and a beautiful life.
