Throwing rocks, finger gun pointing at cars, mooning, flipping off, or plastering face and tongue to a car window to get the attention of passersby…
These are pranks I, and I venture to guess, many others have innocently done as a child. We have a gun problem in America that manifests itself all too often in violence against childhood.

My speciality was unravelling a golf ball which in those days consisted of a long line of elastic inside a white shell. At the end of the elastic was a tiny black ball. Then dangling it out of the car window so that it bounced on the windscreen of the car behind.

Happy days. Never got shot, even once.
