Just before Appomattox Court House what was left of the 2nd Florida Infantry Regt (60 men)was captured and marched back to Petersburg VA by black troops of the Provost Marshal. The Fla men drowned every black provost guard and marched themselves to town. The Florida Brigade were mean motor-scooters in the Army of Northern VA.
