American reverence for The Queen

Odd question but one I discussed recently. It falls into two camps in the US. Some love the royals, others hate them as much as they hate all the other Brits.

It's interesting from a historical point of view and the family does have some very minor ties to the monarchy. Above and beyond that, no real reverence for it.

I can't and won't speak for all Americans, but I find the idea of a Monarchy, even a symbolic one, kinda gross. I do have to give the Queen credit for at least TRYING to be a symbol of civility and quiet strength. I definitely would rather salute Elizabeth than Kim Kardashian.

Kim… meh. I’d like to salute Kendall Jenner.
