I turn it on briefly every season to see if Paula Abdul is still crazy. I haven't been disappointed yet.

LOVE Idol... LOVE Simon (even though his comments tend to be scathing)... Paula irritates me, pretentious bitch... Randy makes me roll my eyes. I hate that the first few weeks of the show are dedicated to the auditions. I like to see some of them, mind you, but my gawd, can't we limit it to a select few?

I haven't seen it yet, I had to work late so I recorded it on DVR.

Kiten, do you watch 'Nashville Star' too? The guy that won last year, Chris Young, is yummy and I loved the song he wrote for the show, 'Drinking Me Lonely'.

I liked the voice of the dude in the American Boxer outfit who sang Italian Opera and was surprised he didn't make it to the next round. (Why oh why do people feel the need to wear freaky outfits to audition?)

Oh, and I loved that particuar rendition of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'. What was her name? Denise?

And I LOVE Simon... my god, that smile melts me, every single time... *swoon*

And I agree, the girl with the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" audition blew me away!

The talent was TERRIBLE for the most part, and I laughed so hard at the woman who was doing the Cowardly Lion impression I literally peed my pants!!!! And that 16 year old kid who cried in the lobby? *snerk* Do these people really think they're good? That stuns me sometimes... who's told them they're good!? Because I agree with Simon, that's just a disservice to them and everyone who has to listen to them!

Randy's comment: "I love Country music, too, but I don't try to sing it." Ha!

Oh, and the "Lion" chick who said, "Do you at least want the poster."

Simon, "No." Randy, "Uh, no." Jewel, "You guys are so cold!" ROFL

I thought the same thing. I even thought they passed a few through that were very border line. Frankly, in the past couple years, some of the 17 would not have stood a chance. I hope tonight is better or I might be finding something else to watch.
