Republicans keep pushing the myth that "America is #1". Sometimes when they do this, it's just nationalistic chest-beating. Sometimes when they do this, it's part of their anti-immigrant fervor, but they always insist that America is exceptional. They're better than every other nation on the planet.
But are they really?

America is not #1 in quality of life. That honor goes to Sweden.
America is not #1 in life expectancy. That honor goes to Monaco.
America is not #1 in freedom of the press. That honor goes to Norway.
America is not #1 in having the most educated population. That honor goes to Japan.
America is not #1 in physical fitness. That honor goes to the Netherlands.
America is not #1 in healthcare. That honor goes to Spain.
So, exactly in what way is America better than every other nation on the planet?
